Lets get some details: Power pack type: eg MRC model xxx, Rokuhan, etc. Type of running track: MTL, Rokuhan, Märklin, etc.
Are you sure that the there is voltage on the track? MTL's power connection track makes poor contact with smaller wires. Can you measure the track voltage with a meter? Have you tried *touching* a 9 Volt battery to the wheels (or shell off to the frame halves)?
Are you near any cities where a fellow Z'd or even any other scaler might be able to assist.
It is truly hard to believe that you could be this lucky. But we're here to help.

Peco flex and märklin flex are near absolutely identical (rail and ties). You could say it is code 60 but its pretty much c55. That partly comes from the rail sitting nearly o.012" off the ties (BIG tie plates) where MTL's sit very prototypical *on* the scale tie plate. The tie size is quite near the same for all three. So it is the BIG rail head of the Peco/märklin rail and the height it sits above the ties.
The big difference is the rail head. Peco and Marklin are wider, about 50% more than MTL flex and turnouts.
Peter Wright made his turnouts using the MTL flex I gave him and then later the Micro Engineering c55.

Nope to the SP fantasy Heavyweights. Harriman round roofs, OK. But I would rather like to see some more modern rib sides, easpecially as you phase into the new diesels. (compliments the RDC's too )

Please check of posts on Trainboard and Z Central Station (this forum is more focused on just the AZL products).
MTL produced a series of turnouts where the Guard Rails (the black plastic next to the Stock rails, the outer ones, not the ones at the Frog) where too close to the Stock rails. Wheel gauging was critical. Many of us filed the Guard rails about 1/2 thinner. Later production resolved this.
Also, the truck bottom is often too close to the rail head (top surface). Literally thousandths of an inch. Many of us have filed them a bit to get above the rails a bit more (keep it from 'lifting' the truck).
And, the front edge of the truck buttom is a square edge. Champher (angle) it a bit.
And, the Plow is also way too close to the top of the rails and often snags on parts of the turnouts, crossings and even rail joints. While it is prototypical clearance, it doesn't work in our scale. File it off a bit.
Hope this helps !

When you turn the car over and look carefully (closely), can you see if the axle (the rod plus the 2 wheels) can move side-to-side (point-to-point, end-to-end) *within* the truck ? Is there *any* 'play' (free movement)?
Is any one (or two, or three) of the wheels able to free roll (you try and spin it and it will *continue* and a breif moment)? Or, do *none* of the wheel want to free roll ?
Straight track ? or, straight and curves (e.g. oval) ?
Both of my sets (original and much later purchased), roll relatively easily. I can pull all 8 cars with a single loco. (I have 3 of them).

Not without an external amplifier. The internals are near identical to a in-train sound decoder, using a digital amplifier. There will be no 'analog' tap point within the circuitry but you can tap on to the two speaker wires (you MUST leave the speaker in the circuit, that is how it 'technically' can make the audio sound from the very high frequency [very inaudible frequency]). Solder two wires on these 2 speaker connections to a 3.5 mm jack so that you can plug a small amp like this into it. tinyurl.com/n8x6cjk Note: the jack must be a 3 circuit 'stereo' with the 'tip and ring' contacts tied together, to one speaker lead and the 'sleave' contact tied to the other speaker lead. It doesn't matter which speaker lead as the amplifier is 'bi-polar' in design.

Rob, we can read your mind. Honestly. So why wait? But I would rather have you just announce 'oh, look what we just received!' 'what do we have here?' OK folks, for sale at your local dealer . . . . Kills us waiting .

With DCC, each loco can have it's own speed table so there won't be any difference

While I can survive with the Santa Fe's (*IF* I can get some cars, since they sold out before I could click 'purchase'), any rogue SP would *still* run on this railroad.

Soon, I will have more locos on the BAZ BoyZ modules than rolling stock ! And, my TrainBoxes Plus is the O scale size one and FULL of out-of-box rolling stock.
Bring 'em on !
