HO brass is a bargain in comparison, That Challenger is actually gone, crazy s...stuff. There is also a Big Boy and E7 A-B-B "on sale", similar money.... Unbelievable:-0... it came and went in a few hours...

A drive-in beside a railroad with heavy steam engines :-0 that’s amazing. By the way, that on screen should be an F-86 Sabre. Maybe it is a Korean war movie or documentary

Indeed! I am particularly fascinated by eastern railroads like Norfolk & Western, New York Central and Chesapeake & Ohio, all of which proudly had used fine streamlined steam locomotives since the 30s. So fond were they of steam power, that even designed new locomotives when everyone else had already shifted to diesel. Just think of the amazing, ill-fated C&O M-1 steam turbine :-)

From this page it would seem that the C&O Pere Marguette never ran steam, except possibly in an emergency. Mark A most interesting site, thank you Mark. Hello! Does anybody know which kind of passenger cars were pulled by C&O big steam engines before the rise of diesel? For instance in George Washington and Pere Marquette trains. While there is online a lot of info on diesel powered trains, I have great difficulty to pick the right stuff (heavyweight, lightweight, streamlined, Pullmann, Budd etc.) for steam locomotives. There are several pictures, for instance of the Hudson L-1 class, but alas, I am not so knowledgeable to tell one type of car from the other. Thank you!

The only dealer I found, who had the rebuilt SD75i for sale, wouldn’t ship overseas, for unknown reasons:-( I hope to be luckier next time, with UP’s.

Hello! Browsing on railpictures.net I noticed that often both Canadian (CN/CP) and Mexican (Ferromex) locos are pulling trains in the USA together with American locos. For instance, this seems pretty common in the case of GE ES44ACs. How does it work in North America? In Europe I believe locos are changed at the border between two states. I am asking because I would like to combine two or more of such locos. Mainly Norfolk & Southern, since I wasn’t able to purchase any BNSF, which would go well with Ferromex, I guess. Marco
