One of the legendary AZL gray goose UP Challenger just popped up at Ztrack resale, in mint condition!
Sadly, it is priced accordingly. Never saw one for sale in a decade, let alone in pristine state

I am not particularly interested in switchers, but as a long time AZL fan I can testify that they are cherished by most forum members. RS always pop up at the top of any locomotive wishlist. The joy I am now seeing in so many fellow Z lovers is something that warms the heart Well done AZL!

I am not sure this is the right place, but here I go anyway: what about a fine new brass locomotive? We had the N&W J Class that was almost about to hit shelves. If I am not mistaken, there were also rumors for an obscure electric loco (SZL?) and a re-run of UP Big Boy. Any chance they pop up again in the pipeline? Or shall I lobby in this thread for a heavy chunk of metal ? For the time being, the Brass Factory is closed. We are currently looking for a new factory, but no news to report at this time. There are MANY things we would like to make in brass (think steam and electrics) but without a factory that we know can produce quality goods, this is not possible at this time. Rob, this is sad, but not unexpected. Thank you all the same for your update. In any case, I am happy to hear that AZL people too are metal lovers _\m/ I agree that heavy metal is a sound option when talking steam. Not only from a collector's perspective, but also from operations guys', since a greater weight means ideal adherence to rails, and allows for more pulling power! Please, when you have the faintest idea that something is moving in that direction, start collect ideas on the forum, wishes and, if needed, money from brass lovers to crowdfund your project!

The Ajin manufactured brass, steam engines: GS-4, Challenger and AC-12 Cab forward :-) all of them are timeless masterpieces in Z scale. I would also add the brass Alco PA-1, of which unfortunately I own none.

Donno She may be just freeing up cash flow. Remember, the same thing was said about ModelTrainStuff! And rightly so, I regret to say. After their super sale of two years ago, the AZL offer by modeltrainstuff has been quite limited. I used to buy from them Z products, but now I only happen to buy HO.

Nothing new about Searail's FA (delay, price) ? NYC would be fine, but NH (in black-white-orange livery) better ! It seems it will be, once again, brass made (and undecorated). At the beginning of 2020 it was supposed to be plastic, but something went wrong at the last moment apparently. So project returned to the origin :-P I wonder if we will ever see that model

I am still believing that FA/PA would have big success ... That’s right! No locomotive wish-list is such without the Alco Pa-1/Pa-2

Well, I'd go for 3 or 4 PA/B SP consists in Daylight and Bloody nose. Searails has announced the release for their FA-1 for tomorrow. Great! Is the body made of brass? I thought so, but I believe at a certain point I read somewhere it was plastic

In Christmas 2004 I bought my first ever Z scale trains: Marklin 81863 (a freight starter set) and 81430 (a DRG passenger set)!
That makes 15 years of Z collecting :-)
