That's what I was thinking. I might be able to best him too.

There is never enough! I have been running Z scale trains since 1972 when Marklin released it here in the U.S.A. I have way more cars and locos than I'll ever need. It sure is fun, though, to pull out a loco or 2 and a bunch of freight or passenger cars and run them on my modules. I even ran across a currently operating railroad that uses my initials (TP&W). I'm still buying too!!

Rokuhan has already done all of this experimentation. I would STRONGLY suggest that you use their products to control their products. I'm tired of seeing, now 3 pages, of re-inventing the wheel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nobody else is currently manufacturing anything like the PowerMax in Z scale.

Then you risk voiding your warranties. I burned up several locomotives in 1972 by using the wrong controler.

I only use power supplies/transformers/controls that are specifically made for Z scale. I don't have to worry about it that way. I don't do DCC either.

I'm having trouble getting people to bring modules to play trains at the NTS. A Z- scale convention would have to be done by a manufacturer(s) or someone with a lot of money and tme......that's not me. I would love it if a convention would come back, though.

Browser Bucklers are compatible with both AZL and MTL couplers.

Being from the St. Louis, MISSOURI area and still living there I thought I should have one. And ...... I have one on the way.

I went to my local hobby sop in 1972 to buy something else and walked out with a Z scale starter set instead.

I might put DCC on my home layout when I build it but I've seen too many clubs have trouble with it (especially with wireless controls) at shows to use it there.

Rob,
Micron Art still makes telephone/utility poles. You should be able to find a good variety on Shapeways too. Of course, the Shapeways stuff is 3D printed and might tend to bend under the EZ line. I don't have any utility/telephone poles on any of my modules.

I run locos and rolling stock from all of the manufacturers. Maybe the reason you haven't seen much mention of the other manufacturers is because this is the AZL forum. I know that AZL doesn't mind if we mention other manufacturers but there are plenty of other forums for that. I started with Marklin in 1972 when it was introduced in the states. I still run Marklin F-7s, Pacifics, Mikados, tank cars, passenger cars and cabeese. I also run some of their European prototype trains. I've got the Commodore Vanderbilt and run repainted, lighted Marklin European passenger cars behind it.
