I have been known to run the same trains with the same AZL locomotives all day at train shows. That's 6 or 7 hours. I run my trains at home almost every waking hour of almost every day. In fact, I have 2 trains, powered by AZL locos, running on my modules at home and 2 trains powered by Marklin can motored 4-6-0s running on separate layouts at home right now. They've been running for 3 hours already this morning.
I clean my track, thoroughly, before the public is admitted to a train show each morning of the show.

I'm curious, Edward. Why do you want to remove the roof of the autorack?

Call me strange, but I buy trains to run them.... I don't own any rolling stock that hasn't been run on my modular layout.

So...if you don't mind doing a little work you can have almost anything that you want.

mrbarlow, I noticed that one of the wanted roadnames on your list was the TP&W. I have 2 TP&W GP38-2s. I haven't done a red with white lettering .....yet. Attachments:

One of the reasons the MidweZt HaulerZ chose the Z-bend Track concept is that it has 2 mainlines. One can be DC and the other can be DCC.

I wouldn't know about code 40 track since I don't have any.

I run locos and equipment from all manufacturers on track from all manufacturers without any problem. The Z-Bend Track modules that the MidweZt HaulerZ group (module group I belong to) sets up at train shows does the same. Any variation in track can be overcome with a little effort.

Hi Casey, The short answer is yes, you can.
I would suggest that you cut out a circle of corrugated cardboard or some other material at the diameter you want to make the curve. Use that to help you form a smooth curve. I attempted to do it freehand the first time I tried. I ended up with "kinks" that can't be seen but affect the operation of the locos. I used the cut-out-circle method to curve Micro Trains track down to a 6-inch diameter curve.
As Eino said, though, why not buy 8510. You can cut them short if you don't need the full piece.

I removed the Marklin coupler from the truck of the Marklin passenger car by removing the cover on the coupler box and replacing the coupler with a MTL #902 short shank coupler.

I've heard that there is room for a decoder in the tender so some weight should be possible.

You are correct, Dom. The tender wheels are the only electrical pick-up points for the motor.
