On another thread, Hans mentions that upon further review that GP38-2 tooling is still in play, after a previous warning that they might not be able to do any more runs of the popular locomotive. So of course, we must build our Christmas List of schemes we want! Here are mine. I'm definitely not on the nice list, but I won't be deterred. 1. Another run of Santa Fe, for sure. Sold mine when I thought I was getting out of Z and now....regret. 2. More Gennessee & Wyoming's. Go a little brighter on the orange this time maybe? 3. EMDX Lease - Same, very ubiquitous scheme that could be (and was) literally on every railroad in North America. 4. BN Whiteface - www.flickr.com/photos/hunter1828/32740997055. More modern-scheme (80's+) UP

I regret not picking up a CSX YN3 or on the the G&W units while they were available.
CSX YN3 re-run California Northern (G&W) Ventura County Railroad (G&W)
Those Alaska units sold out fast.

I sent you a PM with a little more explanation. But I sincerely appreciate you giving me a heads-up. I anticipate AZL's release of these will be of a sufficient time in the future, that I might have replenished my disposable income.

Good bet that quite a few of those made it to Chicago at times.

Or Boston & Maine maybe? How about Southern? These had "weird" noses like many of their other locos.

EJ&E (Elgin, Joliet & Eastern) Let me put in another vote for EJ&E for the GP38-2. And, if and when AZL does the ET44AC, I’d buy the CN EJ&E heritage unit (CN 3023). You see, I mainly model the BNSF, and some people around here complain that AZL’s BNSF locomotives have too much black (Heritage III) and not enough Pullman green (Heritage I and II). I think the real problem is that they don’t have enough orange. AZL needs to come out with that apotheosis of orange locomotive paint schemes, the “J.” More seriously, the EJ&E was the railroad in town where I grew up, and I’d gladly buy anything EJ&E that AZL puts out.

Good bet that quite a few of those made it to Chicago at times. I model the midwest. All road names listed were "built" at EMD, LaGrange, IL (suburb of Chicago). Canadian roads were built at GMD, London, ON. Everything on rails, sooner or later, goes through Chicago. As far as Chessie (B&O / C&O / WM) re-runs, those have already been made. I'm sure they'll be included when the GP40 or GP35 are released in a few years.

Thank you for all the GP38-2 feedback. Sorry, the Southern High Hood will not be possible. The tooling is not set up for this version.

mrbarlow, I noticed that one of the wanted roadnames on your list was the TP&W. I have 2 TP&W GP38-2s. I haven't done a red with white lettering .....yet. Attachments:
