I am looking to use the RDC mechanism for a project and would like to know if it will fit before I buy one. Anyone?

Would anyone be able to post the dimensions of the current AZL RDC inner mechanism? I need height, width, and length. Truck centers and coupler mounting info would be helpful as well.

I recently added a siding that narrows down to 170R using Rokuhan track. My GP38 was able to negotiate it just fine.

For power I use a Digitrax Zephyr with a DT402 plugged into it (the DT402 is usually used on my HO scale layout). I can operate 3 trains independently on my small coffee table layout. I typically run trains with a minimum of 2 engines so the Zephyr is supplying power for six engines and 3-4 stationary decoders without a problem. The Zephyr is hyper-sensitive to shorts, but I consider that a good thing.

Very cool for steam lovers. Any hints at what is going to be released first on the diesel list?

How about some video instead of photos?
AZL GP38's pulling a string of coal cars and a lone caboose. These have been pulled from yard duty while I await some more capable SD70 power to show up.
A GP39M and GP38-2 pull the stacks around the inner loop. The town and scenery in the middle is being changed and an interstate highway bridge with span the yard in the upper right. I am going to extend the line coming out of the single tunnel so I can park a coal train there. I have also added a bypass in the yard for trains to run around without shutting down the whole yard.
Track is currently all MTL roadbed track, except for a short length of Rokuhan road bed flex track (cool idea) for that yard bypass. |I have some Rokuhan switches on the way to see if they are anymore reliable. Power is Digitrax DT402 with a DCS50 as a base and third throttle.
I know it looks busy, but it is designed more for entertainment of my grandkids that anything prototypical.
This layout will also see some Amtrak, and an occasional Steam excursion when I get DCC installed in them.

Great news. I will not order anything before Christmas anyway during the biggest mess in Postal service all year. First thing next year then I hope. Thanks, I'm already looking forward to get my hands on SD70 and maybe a GP7. (not to forget MILW heavy mikado) Cheers Mikael Any luck with the SD70's. Looking for BNSF (ATSF) versions.

Is there a chance we might see SD70's by Christmas?

I will definitely order one of the Burlington units when they come out. But what I really need those SD-70's to haul my coal train. Hope they are coming soon too.

I have found a few fixes for them. One drag a #11 exacto blade through the guide rails to open up the clearance. Clean the inside of the point tips. They just barely make contact as it is. I have even taken them apart to clean the frog powering contacts. Make sure the frog is level with the top of the rails when you put them back together.
What I am seriously tempted to do is power the frog via switch machine contacts as I don't think using the points is reliable enough. My AZL engines still stall on them from time to time and my layout will be in a coffee table so constant tinkering with them is not going to be easy.

Thanks, I have seen that page. I was hoping for road numbers for them and pics of the SD70i in BNSF colors. Will the latter be like those currently on the market?
