If you fancy a challenge you can do an Alco FA using the GHW model on Shapeways designed to fit the MTL F7 mech It was printed in what used to be called SWF plastic which has a grainy finish so needed a couple of coats of primer sanded down between each one to smooth it out. In fact it needed a fair bit of rubbing down but the end result was worth it The truck sides were resin copies of the ones under the Hallmark turbine glued onto the side of the F7 trucks that had been rubbed down flush. because I lost a lot of the grill detail on the side I scanned the FA drawing and printed some clear decal ones that look O.K I've also started one of his EMD FTs in the same material. Again this had a lot of grain and is seen here in the first coat of reveal primer. Since I took this shot I've added the dynamic brakes on the roof and will finish it in Northern Pacific livery when I get round to it Kev

To Gerd : I think You are unfortunately right ... I took a glance at Searails, too, and didn't find any reference to FA (especially NH ? ). It seems they "forgot" it ...

Since AZL came out with the GP30 with AAR style trucks, I wonder how it would fit under the FA shell?
Hmmmmmm.......

The NH(is in the list)-3-colour-scheme only with decals ? Panic ! Or will they use another one, 2 colours, like this (2nd picture) or that ? Sorry, not interested !

Since they say they'll be producing red, yellow and black shells, I doubt that they would do the second green version.

No real update except that they are polling potential customers for interest in a Shay, FA-1 or SW1500: I think they missed the boat on the SW1500 ( www.thezmaker.com/sw1500shop ) so hopefully they'll pick one of the other two.

I just got an update from searails. They plan on having the SW1500 and GE 70-tonner for NTS 2020.

Searails lost me, they announced dozens of models, but nothing comes through. Trying to squeeze any shape and model over their powermax chassis, which has very limited use because of its dimensions. They are themselves their worst enemy

Me too. My understanding was that the FA-1 was to be released in Autumn 2018. But it is now MIA

I can tell you I saw the FA-1 at the PCR convention last year. I didn't give it much attention as he was pushing N/Nn3 offerings. They are redesigning the power max chassis which will be used for the previously mention 2020 release. I tend to agree with Gerd, it's hard to believe that the same chassis, no matter how it's designed, can work with both those locomotives.
