Hello! In view of the next lightweight onslaught, I believe it would be great to have some Alco PA1 back for sale! :-) It is a shame that AZL, the beauty queen of z scale manufacturers, cannot satisfy the needs of her good and wealthy customers ah ah ah I myself am willing to provide a non refundable cash deposit to fund this great new venture, if needed. If I am not mistaken, for a similar brass GS-4 project a minimum of 50 orders were required. For a typical ABBA or ABA consist, I am sure that figure can be easily outdone :-D

If they make injection molded PA1's, you will get a lot more than just 50 orders.

Why dream? Using the Hallmark models, e.g. Gerd achieves very compelling results. And the Hallmark stuff is not expensive at all......... Best, Sven

"Makeshift job" : You don't even know if it is really scale and will easily fit an existing motorized chassis ; and then remains the problem of repainting ! An already finished (AZL ? ) model would be 1000 times better !

An already finished (AZL ? ) model would be 1000 times better ! Alberich, I do know, I have them in my hands, see all my pictures! See the latest constructions by Gerd attached here!! Is there anything you don't like or miss? Yes, AZL would be much nicer. And there are a few models produced by AZL, but if you can‘t afford them or want a NH model which never existed, then you need to improvise. Even when AZL would decide to go for an ALCO PA-1 or -2, I would expect that you at best can purchase it 3 years down the road. If you don‘t want to wait that long, Hallmark is the way to go. Modell railroading is fun! Sven

Great pictures Sven thanks for posting them, personally I would love AZL to produce ABA PA-1’s in Daylight, UP and Rio Grande and would put money down for an advanced order, if this helps nudge construction 😀

Thanks, Sven, but not everybody is an artist, especially in painting ... and unfortunately I am not !

Alberich, most of us aren't artists, or landscapers, or brain surgeons for that matter. That's why we hire out the work to those who are. Gerd is first rate and has found a clever alternative when Z manufacturers can't come through.

Unfortunately, such an "order" for a single model painting (especially with a complicated colour scheme like NH) will increase the costs far over the price for a standard injection molded model ... So I prefer stay waiting for a corresponding (AZL or MTL ? ) model, and if it does not appear ... so much for that !
