Just installed a tcs dcc controller, added a LED for the mars light on my New received chassis and my Grande GP40-2 is great running locomotive again. Thx for the service AZL!

Hi Hans, Interesting livery details changes, now I see that there are even more differences. Patches at the nose became more yellow as well and the big road number on cab sides came. thx, learned again something new about D&RGW. link to RailPictures/Frank

D&RGW RS3 View AttachmentPrototype details include: Phase I Body, Bodymounted Numberboards, ALCO AAR Trucks, Dual Bulb Headlight, 1 single + 3 Chime Airhorns, Lengthwise Smokestack and 1400 Gallon Fuel Tank. Roadnumbers: 5202, 5203 & 5204 Hi Hans, I just noticed that the yellow rectangular with 'Rio Grande' is slightly positioned to high. It is in the middle over the yellow line, but should instead touch the yellow line Below it. It makes the difference in appearance. /Frank

View AttachmentWell, we got our first plastic sample. Now the real work begins! This looks very promising! I like the two openings in the stairs to the front door. Much attention to detail. /Frank

So on to our Saturday new announcement. A project that we have worked on a long time and it is finally entered the tooling stage. Actually two locomotives: EMD SW1000 and EMD SW1500 They will be correct to each road name which means correct headlights, number boards and trucks. Expect Spring delivery if testing phase goes according to plan. Finally! :-)

I agree with Gerd. Find a way. Put the motor in the fuel tank with a drive like the RDC. Put the PCB in the the fuel tank upside down from the normal orientation. Offset the motor and leave a notch in the frame for a wired decoder. There is room for a 6 pin CT Elektronik 74z decoder in there somewhere. Lots of options ... That would mean a new chassis type. Which means a higher costs. I assume that the gp30 chassis wil be re-used but without pcb./Frank

Hi, Will a Digitrax or TCS drop-in dcc decoder fit in or will there only be space left in the cab for a very small decoder? /Frank

Dear all,
I have installed a TCS 1550 DCC decoder for AZL in my GP40-2 (kitbashed from a AZL GP38-2). I have added a small LED in the short hood and set CV51 to auto mars 13. The forward head light CV49 is set to rule 17 dimmable light 8.
