Rob(s)/Hans: Just curious... What is the "Real Story" with these Reefer releases and quick sellouts? Is this related to unscrupulous buyers that resell on E Bay? Or some type of Z Fanatic Cult, in which members only buy this particular model, while living in Mommy's basement? 😊 I posted this in the August release "There's a limited number so dealer orders are enough to make it appear as if they sold out quickly (if you only use AZL direct as a gauge)." I will add ... the lack of appearance of a new release on AZL direct means the items are en route to dealers who snatched them all up. In this release, as a dealer, I was asleep at the wheel last night while refreshing the dealer ordering page and ended up with only one 2-pack. I haven't listed it on my site yet. Hence it's "missing" from the world. I know John (US Z) and Anthony (ZSM) and possibly 1zu220 in Germany got some as i heard from customers that they had them listed as available for a brief moment. AZL seemingly has under-ordered these r7020's. That's pretty clear. Although some previous "can't find anywhere" versions still sit in some dealer's stock, unsold.

Per Rob K answering me for the same question "This is the 2023 run of E8s. It matches the (pricing of the) PAs. The PRR and other E8s are from the previous run." Thank you, Frank. Appreciated. However, per your quoting Rob K, I say: No. As of this writing, only the 2023 UP E8 matches the pricing of the PAs. The 2023 PRR E8 and these other 2022/2023 E8s: VIA, KCS, B&O, and C&O are not from the previous run. Looking forward to learning the rationale. Appreciatively, Scott ... ONLY the UP E8 was announced as a "re-run" per Rob A in a post I cannot recall during the COLA announcement. Re-run, as Curn says, is a small batch special run (nee "2023 run"), lower quantities, higher cost per unit. And I'm very certain that the roads listed are from a previous run - no matter release date as AZL releases via "trickle" method as opposed to Intermountain shotgun blast method.

Whoops! That was a preview page prior to the release ... Pre-order window is open at Atlas as well, via Anthony and also at z.scale.hobo: zscalehobo.com/atlas/atlas_index.html#evanshere are the six roads in the first announcement - 2 cars per road

Doug is that kid shaking the presents before opening on Christmas morning. By the time Mom & Dad woke up, he already figured out what each one was.

There's a limited number so dealer orders are enough to make it appear as if they sold out quickly (if you only use AZL direct as a gauge). However, in fact, many still sit at Dealer stock (ahem) unsold. The UP 4-pack & 2-pack sets just sold out. Still have Santa Fe FE & UP/SP PFE sets in spite of being "sold out everywhere" BNFE shows up at a couple of places (both ZSM & ZSH) as still available.

Noch Mittelberg layout. I have one coming in within the next weeks and was also wondering about possible Z implementation. The customer who ordered it is using N scale. The gradients might be too steep but maybe not.

I see. If you are OK to paint, I have Marklin 255487 in stock ... www.zscalehobo.com/marklin/marklin_numbers.html#spares This is part of the Marklin spares supply for the AZL-Marklin E8 collaborations. I just tested it out on a AZL CNW E7 and it works well. UP/SP - Gray version - Marklin 255487 i.imgur.com/OO08C2X.jpg (i only have 1 left at the present pricing and it will go up by $2 each for my next Marklin spares order) Stock AZL CNW version - GREEN (this snowplow is not available) i.imgur.com/pfFyHS5.jpg

It seems you cannot pull metal wheels from an AZL and install onto an MTL car.
Buy Wills Wheels linked previously (for smaller packs via my site) and Anthony (ZSM) stocks larger packs, if i recall correctly. Different conical connection of wheels to the trucks.
A metal wheel is not universal.
