It seems you cannot pull metal wheels from an AZL and install onto an MTL car.
Buy Wills Wheels linked previously (for smaller packs via my site) and Anthony (ZSM) stocks larger packs, if i recall correctly. Different conical connection of wheels to the trucks.
A metal wheel is not universal.

Thank You alberich, I just found the ROK-A063 Wheel Cleaner Brand new for sale Available for $43.00 +shipping Kinda of pricey but I most definitely need it Thank You for that advice... James Ian Here's the older version demonstration video As for wheel replacement - pull out old, put in new. Truck is re-used. If you shop my site for MTL, there's a link on each MTL car for metal wheels. Direct link here: zscalehobo.com/misc/wills-wheels.html

are you using Micro-Trains rolling stock with stock plastic wheels? These are gunk accumulators. Suggest you change the wheels out for metal wheels. DO NOT REMOVE THE TRACTION TIRE from the AZL locomotives! The Tusgawa 12508 / Rokuhan A063 is the best way to clean AZL locomotive wheels as it's not too abrasive on the traction tire. Just not sure why Rokuhan priced it where they did as the Tsugawa model was in the $20 price range. I tend to think Rokuhan bought out the design as the Tsugawa model is no longer available. Marklin has the 66623, but I don't recommend it for locos with traction tires, although, there is no such disclaimer on the product page: zscalehobo.com/marklin/66623.html

I also forgot that the sw fuel tank can catch on Rokuhan track joints. Make sure your stalls aren't at joints if you employ Rokuhan tracks. There is a manipulation (trimming) of a raised feature on the fuel tank that can alleviate the interference.
Usual break in is 30 minutes but your "mileage may vary"

I might suggest to request a test run prior to shipment but usually AZL locos do require a good deal of break-in period.

Don't you think that there's SOME WAY he's possibly cutting the boards to not waste anything? It's a distinct possibility and a waste of all of our time going on about it post after post. I highly doubt much is lost here at the module maker side - again - waste of our time discussing it.
2438m? Wow! Can I buy in meters from you at the inch price? ( you're off by 1000 factor it's actually 2.438m ) - is the metric system that debilitating to people that you're "having a good laugh" about it?
220mm radius in z scale is 8.661 inch radius. 145mm radius is 5.71 inch - 195mm radius is 7.677 inch (I'm not chuckling about it). These are standard Z scale sectional curve geometries with 25mm spacings. Marklin - a German company - started z scale back in 1972. Should we re-invent Z scale track geometries to forgo the metric system in your non-metric world? Ah - yes I know - you're using inch with the Atlas Flex. Noted.
Maybe like alberich's "NO DCC" avatar you can create an avatar that says "NO METRIC"
Hehehe

Check Josh Murrah's T-Trak Z website ttrak.wikidot.com/t-trak-zAs far as I know - T-Trak started in N scale and the idea of modules is that the width is usually defined by multiples of sectional tracks lengths - in Z this is 110mm and 220mm etc. The smaller modules are optimal for people who can work on smaller bite-sized modules and link them up at shows or club events. I think you could make a wider module and just take up a wider space at any event you attend. The width must be in a 220mm multiple. Josh has clearly given ideas on electronics which simplify hookups at shows without having to re-wire at the event - if everyone follows the guidelines it makes hookups much easier. I think he even gives away or breaks even on wiring harnesses

I took the liberty to share this issue with an experienced ZoCal customer who sourced this board from me and here is his feedback
"The issue here is not the decoder it is the frame of the PA1 The PA1 frame has contact with one of the motor contact and this give a short or an out of control engine when you put the decoder You can not see that when you run DC only
To fix this manufacturing defect you need to isolate the base of the motor contact with liquid rubber To check which contact creates the issue you take a ohmmeter/voltmeter put one pin on the frame and one the contact and do the same with the other part of the frame and motor contact
I had plenty of these issues and this is how I fixed this"
Take a gander there, John. Reach out to me any time directly if needed. -Frank

Jeff - as John says the TCS 1560 / AZL1D4 is made for the AZL PA1. AZL TCS 1560 AZL1D4 zscalehobo.com/tcs/tcs_1560.html(I didn't even have to ask them to make it! 😁) John - have you contacted TCS yet? Kinda concerned as this slow-moving product sits - if there's some defect - we dealers may also hold some inventory that could be suspect.

I don’t speak english natively, so it’s easy to be missunderstood. -Eino Sinun englantisi on erittäin hyvää ... your English is really great - much better than my Google Translate Finnish! Thanks, Eino! Greetings from California!

Ah, ok. I did not do a price comparison. So if your price is about the same than the European taxes included price, we end up paying huge overprice when importing outside EU. -Eino wait, what? My price is well below the Euro with tax price ... $239 vs $284. Whatever - you're talking with a US-based Marklin dealer about shipping items back into Europe, so it doesn't really make much sense here. Sorry about the taxes. Be well!

Hi Eino: That's not correct actually. The MSRP for 88625 at Marklin's website is 259 EURO including the VAT. snipped from the new product page for the Marklin 88625: "€259.00 RRP, incl. VAT" (around $284 MSRP at today's exchange rate)
So, you can see that even at my "massively inflated price above AZL" (lol) I'm already much lower than the standard MSRP in Euros pricing. If you're talking about an import duty, then YES - Scandinavia has some crazy customs fees on shipments headed INTO the countries over there. I'd say the customs & duties into Scandinavian countries is even worse than the customs & duties fees going into the UK.
