Cool. How do you work the curves with the rolls?

How do other locomotives run on the same setup? in other words - is the problem ONLY with the SD40's?

I have a heavyweight and can try to remember to check later tonight. In the meantime, it might be nice to know what exactly is the issue here- not sure why you're considering to add weight to the tender as they usually have decent electrical pickup. Also - I've bookmarked an old US Z Scale Cubbin special page on Mikado troubleshooting - this page should be a technical document in the AZL troubleshooting pages .... web.archive.org/web/20181011163336/https://www.us-zscale.com/articles/azl-mikado-troubleshooting (US Z Scale via Wayback Machine)

Those CN versions are even bigger than 7170. But a solid price point.

Viessmann 7174 is a smaller lantern compared to 7170. But MSRP is 21,95€ for 7174 vs 14,95€ for the 7170. As a result, I sell maybe 1pc of 7174 at a time while people scoop up 3 or 4 of 7170 at a time.

Hans, was I hope in that time you can figure a way of separating requests/sales of spares for legitimate repair needs from from the one from people who think they are going to custom build a locomotive. Other than Gerd. I've seen very few examples of real custom builds and I'd hate to lose a locomotive to a broken truck because someone has bought up all the trucks with the dream of someday building a Centennial locomotive. Mark Where are you these days, Mark? Google found us some sad news. 😔

That's the image of a current item in the Trafofuchs line, F02. Looking closer, the toddler in the lady's arms appears to have blue hair and I guess maybe what you're hinting at is that the one guy in a blue suit looks like the "orange man" as some folks call him. other than that - not sure what you're getting at - it's a very popular item to complement the wedding couple set, F01.

I tend to agree, Mr. B, but think about it - AZL sits on a ton of locomotive inventory as it is. Imagine now, you DOUBLE the number of line items as you have a DCC and a non-DCC version to keep in stock. Your bins and inventory is double work. Then, when all the DC versions sell out and you have 10 DCC locos in stock - what do you do? Do you re-convert BACK to DC to sell out the "dead" stock DCC-equipped locomotives that aren't selling? I take my hat off to the AZL model which is to stock quite a bit of stuff but adding a second set of SKU #'s makes this logistical nightmare. Makes more sense to stock 1 locomotive and sell a separately installed DCC board made by 3rd party vendors. The testing that goes along with the DCC board installation isn't trivial for dealers, manufacturers and distributors - leave that up to the end users. Just my 2 pence worth.
edit: An AZL DID used to provide 2 different SKU #'s for DC & DCC locomotives (2013 timeframe with GP38s). They abandoned the concept not too long afterward exactly for the reasons I mentioned.

And now they've edited the file with footnote changing Z to T.
"This article was amended on 15 January 2024. A reference to “Z-gauge” was changed to the intended “T-scale”."

Never tried removing one but I might try prying it loose first.

A quick google search yielded this. Divide by 220.
