A quick update. We received the first plastic. Everything checks out so far. Railroad specific locomotives will be offered, 7-8 in total. Look for running prototypes at the NTS in Portland this August. Sincerely, Hans (AZL) Attachments:

BNSF might get my attention, but for some reason, that is always the last one available.

Tim, knowing AZL, the first one is going to be a railroad that is the least attractive to us or UP. wait, isn't that the same thing.

Moo, then the only way to find happiness is to want one of each, then you'll be happy every time they release a version. I think AZL would be happy too with that approach. The only one *not* happy would be The Spouse.
your Zen comment of the day...

I'd like to see some more images, but I like the details I see on this one. Not sure Southern Pacific had any ES44ACs. I will welcome Union Pacific units. After all, I'm getting a bit tired of these Johnny-come-lately railroads whose names have to be spelled out in mixed company.

Mark Hi Mark Well let's do a little history seems like the Monongahela has been around as long as you're Union Pacific. Yes they may not have the track mileage and they may not be around any longer because Conrail bought them out in 1993. So they were not what you call a " Johnny -come -lately railroad "so your arrogance will have to live with it. History can't be changed. As for the ES 44 AC units was just a honor of a following flag railroad. As for the other railroads. I'm glad AZL models all the present and past railroads. So I guess you have to" get a bit tired of those Johnny come lately railroads".

mgatdog, I don't think Mark was talking about you. The west coast guys didn't like my shot at their borg. I wont grow UP. I am a Toys Are Us kids. The truth is, I have five UP locos, because they are usually the first release.

So I guess you have to" get a bit tired of those Johnny come lately railroads". I guess one of these one of these days I'll just have to learn the proper use of smileys. I would hope that people so dedicated to modeling the "iron horse" would appreciate a bit of irony. Actually, I find modeling the Union Pacific a bit boring. They haven't changed their paint scheme since 1937. If you see any variation from the Armour Yellow and Harbor Mist Grey in a model, it means the manufacturer got it wrong. I really prefer the paint variety of Western Pacific or Southern Pacific, but they can't be part of the ES44AC discussion. AZL has done SO much in expanding the locomotive roster in Z. Everything they produce is as prototypically accurate as possible and they have resisted the temptation to produce fantasy items. I guess that lets any road that disappeared in 1993 out of the ES44AC discussion too, unless you're referring to NS 8025. So I wait with baited breath the arrival of the China Railways ES44AC. Humbly submitted for your approval, Mark

Mark, I think the last locomotive order from SP was the SD70M or the Dash 9-44CW.

Moo, Mark, My sources have the SD70Ms a 1994 order and the last SP orders were 1995 Dash 9-44CW and AC4400CW. Since I'm away from my trusted hardcopy sources, I don't know which were the last to be delivered.
