The Evo is a name for several ES44s. Both AC and DC versions. Yes our ES44AC is an Evolution series. The newest version, the Tier 4 is a little different and hopefully we can make this in the future. Actually, we would need to tool a brand new body.

While the SP never had Gevo's, it doesn't seem far out of the realm of possibilities that AZL would do an SP "close enough" release. I would buy one.

We have not planned any fantasy paint schemes, but maybe down the road? Let us hope that the railroads add more heritage units instead.

We have not planned any fantasy paint schemes, but maybe down the road? Let us hope that the railroads add more heritage units instead. I generally don't encourage or even really like fantasy schemes. In this case, I'd say it's more of a case of "stretching the truth" than it would be considered a full blown fantasy scheme. The ES44's were a natural progression of the AC4400's we're talking about....and there's certainly likely to NEVER be an AC4400 in Z-Scale. Anyway, I probably agree with your take on it, but if I WERE to recommend one, the SP would be it. I probably don't have to say this, but if you did decide to go down the path of fantasy units, a Santa Fe warbonnet would be a winner. ;-)

We actually scrapped the AC4400 in favour of the ES44AC. Not saying that there will never be a true AC4400 from us, but it will take time. And do not forget our original brass release, the GE C44-9W.

I think you REALLY need to consider doing a plastic C44-9W.

Do you run dcc. It's dcc. The sale price is $2200. The Dash9 it's a good runner, which it's not true for all AZL brass.

Dave, I can assure you I will not be purchasing it. He already knows that....he keeps putting on the high pressure sales pitch but I won't budge. I'm sure it's a fine locomotive and good price. Just not in my budget size. I have funds from a selloff of N and Shamoo thinks I'm Daddy Warbucks since I've been buying Z at a higher rate than a typical established z-scaler would. But that is soon coming to a halt....and certainly doesn't include a locomotive that costs twice what my entire current locomotive collection together cost.
