I am running Rokuhan on Lincoln www.dawdawes.com and find them a bit hit and miss, especially the throwing of the point (switch) mind it is an exhibition layout. on the subject of switches to operate them, tomix, kato or there own work fine, I use tomix purchased from plaza japan, about $6 each

A question concerning track compatability. I use Rokuhan for my layouts in the scenic area, but want to use peco z flex with marklin turnouts(points) in the fiddle yard. How good are the Marklin turnouts for running quality ?

I used the Electronic cleaners on my N scale exhibition layouts and they worked great. tried it for Z and not so good, didn't give me the slow running I like. On my new Z layout Lincoln, www.dawdawes.com I run a Fleischmann track rubber lightly round the layout ( it's not a rough as as peco rubber)I then clean with a mini Hoover to remove dust, then clean with a cotton rag with fluid track cleaner. trains will run great at an exhibition for at least 6 hours non stop, before a wipe might be required DD

A little moan. it's nice to see AZL giving us all the New locos and rolling stock, but there are some of us that just don't model anything past the 70s. Please AZL older GEs and maybe an F7or or even an F45, also the SD45 in Milwaukee . Otherwise keep up the good work. A little plug from me, My Milwaukee Road layout Lincoln will be in the October Continental Modeller As AZL has the F3 how about SOO, in both white or the original maroon and gold

Back in 2003 I ran an N scale exhibition railway based on Chester Vermont. it was single line and all wired for cab control dc. At the time a new company nr Oxford was selling Digitrax . Now remember in 2003 dcc was newish in the US let alone the UK, the Brits didn't really get it untill at least 2007, sorry I digress . I purchased a Digitrax unit and an extra hand held and never looked back. it suited me for my n scale layouts at the time. 3 things to remember, always use lots of drop wires ,and i fully isolate my points (switches) at the heal end on all tracks and feed at the toe end. Also keep track clean using a fluid cleaner not a rubber as it scratches the track. I have had one or 2 hiccups over the years but considering I do probably 25 shows a year I think DCC is FAB. Now come up to 2016 and a new Z and a new N layout and what am I using? yup you guessed it DC, why ,I'm only running 1 train at a time, simples Now while I am here, I am building a new Z layout for a friend and he want to go DCC, do you need to reduce the power output. cheers Dave D UK

We are lucky AZL are so proactive with releases each month, the UK suppliers are becoming more secretive now so other suppliers don't know what they are up to.We should be thankfull AZL keep us up to date, so stop giving them hassle it's not needed
