With auto trains being quite popular right now, I have a question to the experts here. Who built this open, bi-level auto car which appears to be out of brass? Thank you! Best, Sven

Thank you, Rob, That was extremely helpful. Just one more question if I may. In your video the two (unmodified?) P42s pull 16 coaches and 11 auto carrier, Your long version is 13/16, thus I assume two P42 can do the job, too. But in the prototypical version it is 15/20 - third engine necessary? Best, Sven

Picture 5: "The Photo Artist" - the light on the water and the mole play the dominant role, yes there is a train, too Picture 6: "The Technical One" - the locomotive in classical position, optimal light for all details, everything else to be ignored (even the sea gull on the wooden chest.... ) What do you think? Best, Sven

Picture 3: "Technically Harbour" - clean, harbour buildings & SP coaches Picture 4: "The big picture" - full view on the layout, preferred by the print media (tough to tell a story this way! )

When we recently discussed the importance of backdrops for the right atmosphere of your layout azlforum.com/post/11684/threadanother important factor came to my mind, the angle you view at the layout (or photograph it). Let's take an example; a SP GS-4 with her train approaches the mole. (all of the six pictures that follow look at exactly the same scene) Picture 1: "Wide Emptiness", wide sky, only the locomotive and a lonely warehouse Picture 2: "Really Busy!", a lot of people, cars, houses, ship, etc. .....

Hi Doug, It is not commercial, but we can send you the file if you like. More details on page 15 and 16 of the Chesapeake Bay thread; azlforum.com/post/5414/threadBest, Sven PS: Two brutally photoshopped backdrops by Dirk, just to illustrate how important the backdrop is for the atmosphere of your layout. Picture 1: Same boat, but now in the blazing sun with the prototypical backdrop of Niles Picture 2: Madness, look into the left upper corner...........

RE: Neverland "I really like how the Archistories models go together but they run a tad to the large size. " Do you mean that they are in scale but just big buildings in general? Archistories do have two different smaller houses (one with 4 different color variants) and just this week they released a 2-building set, farm house with barn, in the timber and red brick designs: www.zscalehobo.com/archistories/405171.htmlwww.zscalehobo.com/archistories/406171.htmlI don't think so, Frank, Archistories buildings are perfectly on scale as these two beautiful pictures by Dirk Kuhlmann may illustrate. I can strongly recommend using them, have a look at the other buildings as well. The water mills are perfectly suited for kit-bashing...... Take a look at Dirk's web page and you will find a lot of ideas how to customize Archistories kits to your needs. www.helenensiel.com/HomeBest, Sven
