Watch out for the details on a layout !!! Each detail tells an individual story, not the "Big Picture" - to be continued - Best, Sven

Since the water is made exactly the same way on all modules, combining modules at the water edge becomes possible...... Here the second module as an example! Best,Sven (same water, different light.....note the birds in the sky)

Sven, look at rail joints. It may not be perfectly straight. There may also be a hump near it. It also could be curve too tight at one spot. Locomotives are great to see imperfect track, because they will climb over it. Watch where the loco details, and that’s where the problem is. The tracks are not the problem, Shamoo, nor the rail joints. Everything is fine until I try more than 10 cars.....

@ Rob A: I have a little problem here with my train. I have two P42s - when I attach more than 11 cars my P42s start to de-rail. As you can see, it is always the inner wheel that is the problem. Neither the radius of the curves nor the tracks seem to be the problem, since with 10 cars the train runs smoothly. Any idea? Best, Sven

They are quite nice but many of their offerings are very European in style. Just a personal taste but when it comes to non-brass models I prefer Stonebridge (when you can find them) or N Scale Architects z line. Your windmill is charming however the only one in SE Virginia is in Colonial Williamsburg. In the 1970ties there still had been reportedly about 20 wind mills all around The Chesapeake Bay.

Probably smaller buildings as the layout isn't very big. I really like how the Archistories models go together but they run a tad to the large size. Hope this helps. Archistories models are hard to overlook. I believe they are the best non-brass purchase you can do. I fell in love with the wind mill. A must have at the Chesapeake Bay !!! (the picture covers about 50x50cm, the whole village is in one 195 curve, thus very typical for size constrained layouts) azlforum.com/post/4259And I wanted to have exactly this visual impact - when I was a kid you could only see the wind mill or the church behind the dyke, but no other part of the village! Best, Sven
