And one more question about the swap boxcarwilly did you have to make any modifications for the mtl headlight to work on the azl F3 chassis ?

Don't throw them away I'm sure someone on ebay would pay you somthing for them or perhaps swap the azl f3 body onto the shitty growler chassis. And just have them sit in that amazing yard you have planned you know static models just to look pretty? Or even a train scrap yard we've all seen pics of salvage train yards on google while looking for our favorite classic locos. If you do decide your just going to toss the old mtl chassis I could really use one for my old CP f7 from the 2003 run of growlers it was my first z scale loco! I saved up for it and bought it with my own money at 10 years old. Unfortunately the brushes only last so many years befor they burn out. All I'm saying willy you got options if you don't want to waste them.
I'm super excited to see that CN f7 pulling the new CN streamliners it's going to look freaking fantastic on that layout of yours

So now the only challenge is were to find chassis only. Great work boxcarwilly that's really good to no I've wanted to know the answer to that for the exact same reason you wanted to know I think te same locos even lol good old CN f7 and probably the maroon CP f7 also.
I'll give you a call one night this week so I can come over and check out the loco swap I also hatched a deal for some z scale from a local collector and ended up with more MTL track for you

Mark when I asked Intermountain if they will produce z scale again if the market picks up they told me that they still have all the molds and artwork and will not be getting rid of them so the possibilities are there for more production. so as long as companies like AZL and Rokuhan keep expanding our market and people like boxcarwilly continue to show the model train community the endless possibilities of our small scale( he modelled the spiral tunnels and it's truly mind blowing ) then I can see them wanting back in bit it's still the fact they let is down that I don't like. I'm sure we will see Intermountain back in a few years.
As far as the pictures and video I took of willys layout I will be posting them as soon as I get home from my work trip and figure out the forum posting thing. But I can tell you right now I'm no photographer and they will not show you just how amazing his layout really is. I tried to capture some pics of key detail areas as well as a video of the layout from end to end. But it's hard when you can barely use a camera and there's people in the way. I may be a young cat at 22 years old but I still suck with technology.

All I can say is wow Boxcarwilly has a fantastic layout it truly is beautiful and I managed to score a bit of z scale from a few vendors On a side note tho I spoke with Intermountain and the man I spoke with told me they will no longer will be producing z scale.... What a disappointment

Zscalehobo I've always loved this idea but I'm just worried that every time someone walks by and bumps the table I'll be pulling the glass up to rerail the trains.

When the kids bump the table does it ever derail your trains? This is awesome by the way

I'm also very excited for this show it will be my first time seeing a z scale layout in person. Now im even more excited due to the fact there will be 2 layouts there not just one and also that I'll be going both days. Now boxcarwilly you threw another curve ball at me I may be able to purchase some new hoppers from Intermountain. I'm very excited for this boxcarwilly is going to impress his mentor and I'm going to go and hopefully meet mine. It is a shame azl will not be there perhaps one day as the line grows we will see azl here in Calgary. By the way boxcarwilly I have that MtL track packed up for you if I forget it on Saturday then remind me when I see you to bring it on Sunday.

I'm curious what loco can pull the most cars? Just one loco
I just ran my sd75i with 50 assorted frieght cars behind it some azl some Intermountain and some mtl
It did really well. The tightest corner was 245r and it crossed many switch tracks along the way never got stuck or slipped once even crossed the double slip with no issues
Anyway curious what our guys thoughts were in this topic Thanks Chris

I can try the gp35 shell on the 38-2 when I get home today. See how close they are to fitting
As far as the f3-f7 I'm not sure how to get the shells off the units to try it
