Nice looking locos, Rob. Do you plan to add a pilot / snowplow and to superdetail them?

My only repainting experience is with a MTL GP35. I indeed stripped it prior to repainting (and that's why i'm crying for undecs, thank you MM Albritton, Riddervold and Kluz for hearing us, with the forecoming undec GP38s!). I consider that's better for detail appearance. For that engine I soaked the shell in a 90° alcohol bath, for 90 minutes, and easily stripped the paint with an old toothbrush. But it appears AZL loco shells are more difficult to stripe, I've no experience with these.

About the absence of long hood windows that was the same on RLW models. As far as I remember AZL is using exactly the same shell than old RLW's. And myself I also came to the conclusion one has to create dummy windows there. I don't consider drilling these but myself I'm thinking about painting them rather than using decals.
BTW thank you for the feedback.

Whatever your reply in Trainboard, I would appreciate a trackplan when you have completed your layout! Congratulations for your work!

Is this a moderne era picture? My knowledge into automobiles is very poor but these seem very modern brands... And I'm amazed to see them in open autoracks (ie 60s body style)..... Dom

... The LED is too blue on the GP30 as well. But's it's only to find a drawback on an over all excellent model.

For tracklaying, I'm using white glue, and I secure track with heavy unused books until it dries.

Which one(s) (This one is tricky because I hear from many N and HO producers that U-Boats just don't sell. Any ideas why they would say that?) In a perfect world, I'd appreciate U23Bs, U30Bs and U30Cs. U23B is my preferred. But I'm just surprised to hear that they don't sell well in other scales... Dom

Hi there. I'm ddechamp71 on Trainboard and on Yahoo_groups_Zscale. Myself I had no particular layout in mind when I came back to modelrailroading in 1997. However I had then a project (an accurately scaled Tehachapi Loop) which could be done only with Z scale in my room dedicated to modelrailroading. To this prospect I purchased many Z scale items over the years, so even when I dropped my initial idea it was logical to continue with Z. And as Z scale is improving year over year I continue to think it's a good decision! Dom
