I'm reviewing some of the production samples now. BN will be the next release, but for now enjoy a picture of the SOO model! Best, -Rob Attachments:

OK, one more quick picture of the BN model too! Note, we improved the top of the mold for more detail in the fans. Attachments:

Love that BN engine. Though I wish you had left off that flag so it wouldn't be restricted to the nineties(?). Hope it can be removed without damaging the green paint underneath.
One thing isn't clear to me: this doesn't seem to be one of the "Don Bouchard" locos. So will there be another, later "regular" release of that?

One thing isn't clear to me: this doesn't seem to be one of the "Don Bouchard" locos. So will there be another, later "regular" release of that? Oliver There are 4 road numbers for each railroad name produced. One number of BN and one of SP are "Don Bouchard" (They have his name in tiny print on the cab) BN and SP are released first. Once they are sold out, the remainder get released. You know, I thought about taking the flag off half of the BN locomotives, but in the end decided against it because I didn't want to confuse the factory with a last minute change order. You can always use some Floquil BN Green to paint over the flag if you want. That will set you back an extra $6. www.testors.com/products/137483Best, -Rob

Earlier today I mentioned that we had improved the top of the GP38-2. In fact, we had hoped to produce this locomotive much earlier in the year, but the top of the tooling was damaged, and we were only able to produce a handful of SP models for the National Z Scale Convention in Denver. In the mean time, we had to make a whole new top for the mold. We decided to make some minor improvements while the work was being done. I thought you might enjoy seeing the changes that we made. The top is the original and the bottom is the new and improved. Production is now underway as I'm beginning to receive final samples from the assembly line. I think we will see these locomotives starting in July. Best, -Rob Attachments:

;D I like the top improvements! The fan blades really "POP" ! I am one of those happy to see the flag on the BN, as they are going to match my GP39E-BASH:

Rob, thanks for the clarification of the releases.
Is that the paint used at the factory? As I want to backdate, I wouldn't want to create a patched look. Huh, this could create some extra expenses, if the Floquil SP dark grey would also fit, covering the (for me) too modern action logo...

those are nice touches to the new top. i'm kind of surprised you didn't redo the exhaust stacks too, but maybe that was more major. the vent on the filter and the new design of the fans is an upgrade. congratulations. dave f.

Is that the paint used at the factory? As I want to backdate, I wouldn't want to create a patched look. Oliver Yes, we specified a color that is 99.9% the same as Floquil Burlington Green, but I can't guarantee a 100% match unless you use the exact same paint batch that they used at the factory. While paint formulas *should* work all the time, the simple truth is that they vary from batch to batch, bucket to bucket. This was true with the real railroads too. I don't think it will have a patched look, but then again, if you're not happy with it, you have only added an extra layer to remove when you try to take the flag off. Besides, once these locos leave the paint shop, they never look the same again in the real world, so why should our models be different? those are nice touches to the new top. i'm kind of surprised you didn't redo the exhaust stacks too, but maybe that was more major. the vent on the filter and the new design of the fans is an upgrade. congratulations. dave f. Thanks! Your guess was correct. The exhaust stacks are also the injection gate for the mold, so that would have been a major redesign.

These are wonderful little locomotives. I have two of Don’s SP’s and they look and run great.
Oh, by the way Rob, the flag looks great on the BN.

They do look so well done. I have to say I am transition, but these look good enough to get one. Especially the GT.

The BN GP38-2s are here. Yeah! I am working through a number of orders that arrived while we were on vacation. After these are out the door, I will plan on test running the BNs with shipping starting right after. This should be by the end of the week. All BN road numbers are in stock. You can order them online at: www.ztrack.com/offers/bouchard/index.htmlRob
