I'm all ready to buy mine, so looking forward to this!!! Yeah, I'm an avid East Coaster but this train (along with a lot of other non-east coast trains too!) gets the blood pumping! This train, and the Blue Comet, have always been dream trains but ever since Bobby Bacala's unfortunate... accident, no Blue Comet for me

Extra weight and very clean track help the Shorty chassis considerably. I've made a pair of videos on some tests I've done over on our YouTube channel.

Hi Folks, Forum admin and overall web guy here. I just wanted to say it's amazing to see so many AZL Forum members posting their images here, we all love this enthusiasm! Being the admin, I tend to keep mt eye on the... well, admin side of things too and I've just made a small change that will keep the forum running smooth and fast, keeping images uploaded to the forum at 300k for each image. If you're not familiar with how to go from a smartphone camera, which usually produces very large images (and their file size), to a good online size, say 1000 or 1200 pixels wide I've added some links here that will be a big help.
For magically reducing image file size I LOVE the TinyPNG website. It's free, fast, no sign-up needed and it's incredibly effective: tinypng.com/All you do is drop your images onto the page and POOF, it greatly reduces the file size while keeping the image dimensions the same with virtually no loss of your image quality. Cool!
Another site I really like and use a few times every week for my own smartphone camera images when I post to things like Facebook or Twitter is the BeFunky website. This is more like a junior version of Photoshop, it's also free to use with no sign-up needed: www.befunky.com/create/Using this site you can crop, resize and adjust brightness... a lot of the basic adjustments are available for free. Resizing is really the big one here as when viewed in a forum, an image 1000 or 1200 pixels wide is usually more than large enough to get across a great picture! It's really easy to use, just like the TinyPNG site, you just drag and drop your picture onto the web page and edit as much as you want. Using one or both of these free sites should make the AZL Forum run even better. And of course don't forget about adding your YouTube videos to your posts too! Thanks everyone, John

Thanks for that article John. The reason I had even mentioned No Ox ID was prior to my first purchase of Z scale was concerned with track cleaning and there are a slew of YT videos of various methods. One in particular had made it seem that No Ox ID was a possible solution. What others have said and the Article does is confirm that this product is Not the be all end all of track mantinence/cleaning which has always been part of Model Railroading. For the most part I'll use anything once on the rails to see if it works for me. Unless the track has a heavy, heavy buildup of room dust or grime, I now try and just keep things clean without a lot of extra chemicals. Any fabric like a T-shirt is good, also you can buy bulk packs of small lint free cloths for electronics reasonably cheap now. One thing I've gone with for years are thin wood coffee stirrers and maybe a little contact cleaner on the stick. I like using the edges of these stirrers to clean / burnish the track a bit, especially the top inside on the rails. Of course, by next month I may have a new favorite thing

To say "Your results may vary" sounds like a cop out, but when it comes to NO-OX-ID A-SPECIAL, I think this is very true. I wrote a short articles on this a few years back using a Rokuhan Shorty chassis:
