Hello. If anyone is attending the NTS this year in Grapevine, TX, there will be a small Z scale layout set up from two groups. The Texas group from Houston for 35/45 Z-Bend Track and Jeff Bathke from Colorado. There will be other people with Bring Your Own Z (BYOZ) set up in the space as well. We will be in area #311 in the main hall. Please stop by and see some trains and feel free to bring some Z to run on the layout.
There is tentatively a dinner being set up for Saturday August 26th after the show that day. No details yet on a place or time. We are working on that.
David George contacted me several months ago and he has been reducing his Z scale module count at his house. I have acquired several modules of his and will be bringing them to the NTS to sell. All the proceeds from the sale will go to the Bill Kronenberger Fund that is run by Rob Kluz at Z Track Magazine. One of the modules is David's first Z scale module and is very detailed and quite large. To large for me to handle by myself to set up at shows. Other modules are much smaller and in various stages of scenery and track work.

Apologize to Rob as I misspelled your last name. Robert Kluz. I was able to edit and correct.

I will be in attendance. REally wanted to have my layout there but work got in the way. Looking forward to seeing everybody again. I was at the KC NTS several years back and met you, Thom, Ellen, Mike, et al.

Hopefully, some people will be able to take some videos for ''us'' poor souls that are unable to go, even maybe some videos of the clinics?

Past clinics are available to NMRA members on their website. The clinics from this year's convention will be available to NMRA members on their website sometime after the convention.

35/45 Z-Bend Track modules loaded and ready to be set up and run some trains. One module is the first Z-Bend Track module built back in 1996 and still used today and has been to six NTS shows. I will leave Houston hopefully around noon tomorrow (Wednesday) and head North to Grapevine. Need to be at the convention center for unloading by 6:00 pm tomorrow. Looking forward to the show and please stop by the layout. We are in spot 311 and looks to be in the front row all the way on the left side if I interrupted the map correctly. Don't forget our Z scale dinner on Saturday. Details in a different previous thread above. I will be the goofy looking guy in the black top hat. So maybe you seen it before at a previous NTS.

FYI, I think it should have said 5:00 PM MDT...still hasn't started and shows about 10 minutes on the countdown. For more information about the rumored Evans double-door boxcars, here are a few links: -Atlas Roadnames done in N: archive.atlasrr.com/NFreight/arc-n53evans.htm-Another view of roadnames from Trovestar: www.trovestar.com/generic/index.php?Collection=4&Body_Style=ATL-BC-53ETEasy to see why Atlas chose this car...a ton of roadnames including many of the prominent RR's of the 70's/80's/90's and a lot of forest products companies and even a few really neat "oddballs" like the Purina scheme. (oddly no SP but still plenty of schemes relevant to SP modelers) Now, they may not do all of these in Z, but it's still fun to see all the possibilities.
