I am not sure this is the right place, but here I go anyway: what about a fine new brass locomotive? We had the N&W J Class that was almost about to hit shelves. If I am not mistaken, there were also rumors for an obscure electric loco (SZL?) and a re-run of UP Big Boy. Any chance they pop up again in the pipeline? Or shall I lobby in this thread for a heavy chunk of metal ? For the time being, the Brass Factory is closed. We are currently looking for a new factory, but no news to report at this time. There are MANY things we would like to make in brass (think steam and electrics) but without a factory that we know can produce quality goods, this is not possible at this time.

Rob, this is sad, but not unexpected. Thank you all the same for your update. In any case, I am happy to hear that AZL people too are metal lovers _\m/ I agree that heavy metal is a sound option when talking steam. Not only from a collector's perspective, but also from operations guys', since a greater weight means ideal adherence to rails, and allows for more pulling power! Please, when you have the faintest idea that something is moving in that direction, start collect ideas on the forum, wishes and, if needed, money from brass lovers to crowdfund your project!

I'd just like a few different engines available in the Rock Island bankrupt blue Route Rock scheme. I can't find anything in Z anywhere. In GP7, GP9, GP38, GP40, SD40-2, RS-3, any of those.

The only loco model I would really need now are 4-axle GEs. U-Boat, Bxx-7 or -8. I understood they are unlikely to be released, as said before. I think ALCO Centuries would be a good choice. C420 for me. BTW, whichever future loco models, I definitly hope RS3's standard (ie body mounted pilots and couplers, these last simply beeing screwed in order to be swapped with MTL's) will be new standard for every future model. And don't forget a non brass (NYC or better black-white-orange NH) FA, or a NYC "Shark Nose" !

How about NH F-units?

Not sure if NH had F7As. They did have the FL9 which is a longer locomotive. AZL have no immediate plans for this locomotive

NH had only FL9s, a 5 axle, dual powered custom unit based on the FP9. Perhaps you might push with the rest of us for a PA-1?

FL9 is possible, custom made only ;-)

Very nice!
Looks like that took a lot of work, Gerd!
Wow!

I honestly forgot about the one 3 axle truck on the FL9. As I said, not a likely AZL candidate. Then a FP7 or a PA are better bets. Well even I can be dreaming, but we should focus on getting the F7, E8 rerun, SW1500/SW1000 and the SD40-2 family completed. Hopefully more updates on those projects in December.

I’m looking forward to the updates, especially on the SD40-2’s. I hope the second round of RS-3’s is still on track.

Very nice! Looks like that took a lot of work, Gerd! Wow! It' is, AZL E8 chopped, only rear axle is powered, but that's fine to pull a 3 car Heavyweight Commuter train
