Don't forget, AZL has SP SD70Ms still available. These also are perfect for the SP Maxi-I sets! I thought a train of the SP MAXI-Is with a couple of the SP SD70Ms would look amazing. Here is more information on these locos: espee.railfan.net/spsd70m.htmlRob Rob, While the SD70Ms would look good, they were mostly assigned to the LA-Portland route. This route has always been a mixed merchandise route with container movements rather thin. Perhaps a better suggestion are the W-E routes such as the Donner Pass/Nevada/Utah route. Here the SD45s, while older units, would be preferred for the container traffic. Today, the SD70 flavors seem to be preferred by UP over this route. Getting back on track, how about the FP7 locomotives? Nearly as many were built as the E8s. Their wheel base is longer than the F7 & short than the E units, making them distinctive. They were owned by all the major roads: NP,UP,SP,WP, PRR.

This is a scheme that still survives today on this (albeit upgraded) locomotive. Something to consider for the next run. You could also do the "Gennessee & Wyoming" shortline scheme, MPI Leasing, and several other possibilities. The SD70Ms probably never did much Intermodal duty. They didn't stay out west for long and were seen systemwide by year 2, but mostly in general service or coal. I recall seeing them hauling trackage rights coal trains on BNSF in the 1995/1996 timeframe through north Texas and continued that service for several years. It was a treat to see those almost new, fairly clean SP units coming through town versus the tunnel motors they replaced. (neat in their own right, of course)

Really be nice to see a second batch of the GP9's in new colors-BN, GN, NP, etc. I'm sure there's others too.

From a modeling standpoint, I would like a 2-8-0. From a business standpoint, I think an S-2, GP-35, C30-7, and the GP-40(-2) would be the way to go

I have an easy request - Burlington Route (CB&Q) E9s. I have the CZ set, but the Q replaced the F3s rather quickly with E-units.

A good question. On our next E8 and E9 run we have included the CB&Q. We also thought it would be a good CZ match

If you're thinking about another run, can I put a plug in for SP6018, the only E8 SP actually owned? Perhaps the EMD demonstrator 952 which ran on the SP for a couple of months and is possibly the unit that became SP6018? BTW a coupler cover would be really cool. Mark

Also a treat to see the inside of SP 9809 (my avatar) in 1996 ... Such a clean and slick cab still almost new at that point. Amazing. ππ

I noticed Hans saying hopefully AZL could do another run of the Big Boy, in this post. azlforum.com/post/16774I was fortunate to catch the UP's running of this awesome beast last year, when it visited Texas. Truly spectacular! I'd love to get one in Z.

We need more Steam powered Locomotives I'm not too picky on the model as long as it's steam powered and it wears the Western Maryland Fireball logo I'll take one of each road No.

Rob - We have the SD45 and hopefully the new SD40-2 so I think the chassis would fit an injection molded shell... Hint hint lol
