Am I the only one here that gets excited with anticipation of the next AZL release?
I have a life and other things to do but dang, it’s just plain and simple fun seeing what the Team AZL puts out on the 1st and 15th of every month....
So what’s it gonna be? A new Maxi road name? lightweight passenger cars? A limited run of the Western Pacific Heritage SD70ACe unit that so many of us missed when they first came out?.......

I went with UP but more importantly, when does the blank come out? I need that so I can scrap my broken framed motor of my first UP unit.

Thanks for posting this video. I’ll have to look at my MTL boxcars and play with the trucks a bit. Maybe I can stop them from derailing.

^^^^^ There were 4 sets produced. So, far, set 1 with the 5 Maersk containers is sold out. Z Scale Monster Trains still has the other 3 sets in stock. Just need to buy 10 containers for each. Gonna have to wait if you want Maersk containers as they are all sold out.

Wow. That one is well seasoned for sure. Okay, I picked one up. ZSMT is already sold out of the complete set and Set 1 with the containers. That was fast. Set 1 was the one I would have preferred.

Tempting but I don’t know...... the Maxi cars are another can of worms. I picked up a BNSF car and just dropped 250 at ZSMT for containers. Yes I picked up 20 cause I know I will buy another maxi car. Might end up with 4 by the time I’m done so still short containers. Have any of these Maersk Maxis been seen in the wild attached to other trains with non Maersk container on them? The AZL well cars are like ghosts. Hard to find
Another question. How do these cars run with the MTL well and flat cars? I’ve tried to mix other AZL and MTL cars together and it didn’t workout so well. The MTLs ended up at the back of the train.
BTW: I don’t run a specific era or line. Just run what I like.

It’s been almost a year since the move to Colorado. Finally got my table up and the cover made. I thought about redesigning a new layout but decided to re-erect what I took down. So, all the plexiglass elevated sections are laid out and ready to be glued back together. Hope to get that done today.
Then there the task of laying down the track. Since I soldered all the power leads to the track it’s going to be a jigsaw puzzle figuring out which piece goes where do I don’t have to drill new holes in the table.

I've been in Z Scale for for over 40 years. In the late 70's my grandmother was going to Germany to see family and sked me if I would like something. I said sure, I'll take a Marklin HO engine. Well, she came back with a Marklin Z gauge set up for me which included two steam locomotives, track and a handfull of freight and passenger cars.
My train addiction has waxed and waned through the years. WE moved this year so I had to box up the layout. As I sit here looking at all my AZL inventory (figuring out the financial damage of the last 4 years), it's time to rebuild the layout.

^^^^^^^. I had to do something like that except put hard sides on it so my cats would not trash my layout. I tried fabric but the little devils easily worked around it. The only thing that stopped them was panel board tied down with Velcro straps....

You could, I suppose. Another thought is take a spare 8505 track and cut it to length and replace the 8592 track.

On the RV Forum a someone posted a video on how not to stop your camper at a light after a RR crossing. Its the 4th engine in line after the KCS.

I pass through Berea OH where the CSX and the NS run next to each other. Quite often lately I’ve seen other road names on a NS train (UP, CP, CN, BN and even CSX) but have in seen an Iowa Interstate yet. Interestingly enough, all the train on the CSX line have only had CSX engines.

That’s odd. I have several SD70Ace engines and all word fine except one CSX. In the forward position at the lead locomotive, it works fine. As a second running backwards it has issues and derails. Maybe your loco has a similar issue. Try turning it around and running it.

I too have a parts box of the GP-38 too. One side of the frame crumbled and the half that Rob sent me was a different size than the original frame side so the two won’t go together. I just gave up and stuck the damn thing in the closet.
