If it wasn’t for AZL, I’d still be buying Marklins. Glad I made the switch.

EMD SD40-2 – Burlington Northern! There are three different road numbers to choose from. 64202-1 BN SD40-2 7273 64202-2 BN SD40-2 7279 64202-3 BN SD40-2 7282 The BN SD40-2s feature: Late Production Cab Headlights Rachet Brake Dynamic Brake Sunshades Low Snowplow Beacon Light 4000 Gallon Fuel Tank Leslie S3LR Airhorn Corrugated Radiators Q-Fans Exhaust Silencer Full width Anticlimber HTC Trucks 88´Nose Prototypical Antennas and more..... In addition, all AZL SD40-2s include directional controlled LED lighting, blackened metal wheels, traction tires, AZL AutoLatchTM couplers and optional pilots/plows. Got mine ordered, thanks! This ought to make an interesting project: Ed
I am so tempted to grab these but must hold out for the SD60s. Hoefully they will come in the Green/white scheme. Pair a couple with an Oakway and life is good.

My DW was reviewing the credit card statement and pleasantly commented that the largest charges this month were for my 1:220 scale addiction…
Rob, please, my bank account needs a break….
Beautiful 25th Anniversary BNSF loco. Can’t wait to see it in person…😀

I agree with future releases, don’t want to know about those. I’m more curious on the previous release and the decision behind standard releases. We all know the UP releases go fast typically and I would presume the major railroads are produced in higher quantities due to demand.
Production runs are a double edged sword. Produce too few and it can be considered and opportunity lost. Produce too much, unsold inventory is a financial killer.
Z Scale is a niche market and I know I’m doing y part to keeping AZL profitable. Just looking for a little more info about the product I’m dumping my hard earned money into.

Rob.
Would AZL be willing to share the number of units produced? The UP Patriot Loco was noted as 50 units for that model. If I recall correctly, the First Run UP Western Pacific was something like 12 units produced.
For our inquiring minds, can you share the numbers of produced units for the Heritage models?
I guess, what is the deciding factor on the quantity of a model run? What is the typical batch size?
Thanks.

Nice. Looks like a Peterworth, Freightliner and a GMC going left to right. Looking forward to getting a couple for my layout.

Looks like no UP 4141 George Bush commemorative rerun. Could be a nice collectible.

It will be sometime next week. Rob K likes to keep on a strict schedule. Me? Not as much. Maybe this release was being shipped on a Boing 747 air-freighter and one of the engines caught on fire and then the cargo door popped off and they flew out in the middle of a blizzard... Or, Ohio was hit with a snowstorm this week. I suspect Rob had to walk two miles uphill, both ways to get to the mailbox and back. The mid month release is still thawing out….

‘That’s right, but a logo, get one free’ I’d like to “but a logo’ for $500 Alex. Gotta love auto correct…
