Hi gang, I have a question about these jewels. Mine (a CB&Q Heavy) gives me the feeling that only her tender picks up the juice. If I try to lift it a little bit, just leaving the locomotive herself on track, nothing happens when I send voltage in rails. Could anyone here (ideally Hans or Rob) give us any input about this question ?

BTW, I'm not sure I'm going to purchase one of these jewels at the time beeing, but anyway I want to congratulate AZL, these units seem really awesome !

No. It’s beaujolais to describe one or an entity as bourgeois. … Wait uh minute. … Lemme get back to you on this. They put Bordelaise in Bolognese while I wuz dinkin’ burgundy. And if we’re that kind of Americans, what kind of Americans are the BAZ BoyZ? (Gotta be somethin’ admirable ’cause I really dig BAZ BoyZ convention vids and the lesson on wireframe evergreen tree-making.) Scott Beaujolais is interresting but I prefer the wine. Dom

AMERICAN Z LINE February 2024 New Releases Part 1 EMD SD40-2 – Florida East Coast (FEC)! There are two different road numbers to choose from. 64217-1 FEC SD40-2 716 64217-2 FEC SD40-2 720 Funny, I shot this very locomotive in 2010, in downtown Miami, when she was still wearing her ex-UP paintscheme.. (Unable to insert pic here, the link to do this doesn't work ) Dom Looks like it works, now. Dom Attachments:

I have heard several folks say they have replaced their AZL trucks with MTL and then replace with Will's Wheels for less cleaning and better rollability. Haven't had a chance to test it yet. When I swapped AZL trucks with MTL trucks on my AZL freight cars, I indeed put Will's metal wheels on these trucks. Perfect for me. Dom

Folks, did any of you swapped factory AZL couplers with MTL samples on these locomotives ? If yes, is it an easy operation ?

Speaking of the SD70, the pilot mounted coupler is easy to be swapped with a MTL coupler, as it’s only screwed in place (btw, my SD70s are old samples from Ajin/Korea, but I’ve no clue about any change with shells and pilots for the recent Chinese samples). Once the locomotive is fitted with MTL couplers, hand-off switching operations are easy with an under track (electro)magnet.

Can one here say which kind of trucks (Roller-Bearing ? Bettendorf ?) and which kind of coupler (Magnematic MTL style ? AZL non-magnematic style) are mounted on these boxcars ?🙂

Don’t you want to swap these Rokuhan turnouts with other brand ? Atlas for example ? Or make your own Fast Tracks samples ? Too sad to drop a whole wonderful layout just for issues on a few turnouts, isn’t it ?
