For the love of god Robert. Please tell me there will be a SP daylight ABB set so I can finally pull the Brass Passenger set I bought that just sit on my shelf. I think we can help you. Is the set cheaper then two locos? Yes.

We will produce "B" units for the railroads that operated them; however, they will only be available for sale as a part of A & B Unit sets. (In some cases we will make A-B-B sets for railroad that ran them that way)

Hi Patrice,
They work exceptionally well. No question.
If I had a layout that had been in storage for a few years, I would manually clean the track first with Electronic Contact cleaner or something like that.
But for maintaining clean track, the Aztec car really does work. Just let it pass over the rails a few times and it does a super job of getting everything to run smoothly. It is the gentle touch of the cleaning process that really makes a difference.
Highly recommended to decrease your frustration and increase your enjoyment of our tiny scale.
Best, -Rob(A)

In the case of the heavyweights, I just wanted to encourage you to continue to produce them. Mark Consider that done!

A bit of a diversion from the thread, but what I'm interest in are undecorated heavyweights. WP had cars in Pullman Green and 2 tone grey, and SP even had a couple of 6-3s in Tuscan Red . Mark You mean like these? www.azldirect.com/passenger/71701-0-Set

Hopefuly we will also see some undecorated ones. Hi Frank, I do not think you will see any more undecorated locomotives from AZL. There are a bunch of problems with undecs: 1) They cost us the same to produce as decorated locomotives. I know everyone will say this doesn't make sense, but it is true: the cost of painting the locomotive on an assembly line is just a few cents. Once we deal with another product number and packaging, the cost of an undec is the same as fully painted. We cannot save you any money by supplying it undecorated. 2) Our factories really do not like to produce them because they cannot understand why anyone would want one unpainted when it cost the same as fully painted. It take me hours to explain that somebody wants to paint their own. 3) Most important, these are by far our worst sellers. We did listen when people said they wanted undecorated locos, but so far, it was all talk and no action. I've got tons of GP38-2 and SD70 undecorated sitting here. I would send them back to be painted, but once assembled, it is very difficult to properly pad print around the hand rails! There was ONE exception to this: RDC - it was an OK seller, but in fairness, it was partially painted silver with a black underframe, so all that was needed was decals for your favorite road name and you were all done. As always, our solution is to buy one decorated and simply repaint it. Good luck, -Rob(A) AZL

What about CN black/white an CP tuscan red, are they still on the list ? Raymond Yes and Yes; however, 2015 is unlikely. 2016 is probable.

Rob, since we are talking about heavyweights again, are there plans in 2015 for an RPO for the PRR? I hope Burlington will be in 2015 We are working on both of those, but have no delivery time estimates.

There are only 2 more new road names we will release in 2015, and only about 8 more road names that I think we would ever produce.

Is there any Tech note available on this as promised by Rob? I want to try to install the TCS Z2 into a couple of GP38-2 engines(if there are space) and I woud like to not need to trace the wiring on the PCB so I know which I need to cut. Yes, I know there are ready to use decoders, but I have a couple Z2 I want to use. :-) My Bad. It completely fell off my "to do" list. I'm on holiday this week, but will try to get back on it next week. Happy New Year! -Rob(A) AZL

I can't speak for AZL, but know many automated "soldering" machines simply heat up the parts and rely on that to stick everything. The "sticky stuff" may be the conformal coating to prevent oxidation. Correct. We have extra PCBs. Just Contact us and we can get you a new one in the mail.

Hi Guys, Normally I just work away at new projects without saying anything, but with the Holidays in high gear, I thought I would give everyone a very little sneak peek at one of the things we should see in the spring. I got a nice box of Sunshine yesterday with 12 different new road names in it. We are at the paint sample stage, so that means the release is not too far off. Check out the attached pictures - you may recognize an old friend. Many more details to come. Best, -Rob(A) AZL
