My wish list , northeastern USA roads. I have had HO and N layouts. I do want to build a nice Z layout but the only keeping me from it is the lack of northeast road names. There is a ton if UP , SF , BN and other western roads on the market but there aren't any D&H , Maine Central , Vermont Railway , BAR etc locos available. Not just locos , there aren't any freight cars either. I don't want to build a layout if I can't run my favorite roads.

It is good to hear from another northeasterner on this thread. We have several different threads on this forum dealing with new locos, including one for brass choices. Once again, I will say that every brass steam loco produced by AZL has been for a western road. I have nothing against that region of the country. In fact, I own one of each of these locos already. There have been a few calls here for eastern locos. My primary interest is steam, although my E8's, GP9's, and GP7's are great locos, and they run beautifully.
How about a N&W class J 4-8-4, a Nickel Plate Berkshire, or a Niagara in brass?
AZL had a good idea with all of the injection molded mikados, heavy and light, which they produced for a number of roads from all over the country. Could a similar production be done with a 4-6-2 Pacific? These again were used by many railroads over a wide region.
Don't get me wrong. I look forward to the new F3's and F7's which are in AZL's pipeline. It will be nice to see an F7 which does not sound like an electric can opener.
At any rate, we live in an exciting time for z scalers, with much to look forward to!

We are working on it. The first run of the F3A&Bs will feature B&O, NYC and PRR. Later runs will include other eastern Railroads. Anyway we have a few surprises coming which we will announce at the NTS in Portland in August. Sincerely, Hans (AZL)

It will be nice to see an F7 which does not sound like an electric can opener. I know there are a lot of people out there who love their MTL F7. They are heavy reliable runners. In honor of them, I'm recording some sound samples of the coffee grinder MTL sounds. I'm going to upload them to a good DCC sound decoder and that way we will make authentic MTL sounds an option on our DCC ready F3 and F7 units. <kidding!> Enjoy, -Rob(A) AZL

I realize I wasn't very specific in my last post. I'm a big D&H fan . What I'd really love to see is a RS3 in D&H and EL. Other D&H locos that I'd love to see are an SD45 , GP39. Is also love to see few BAR locos like a BL2 and GP7.

I just want a few (several sets really) ABA sets of F units for my new '50s-'70s retirement layout. NP paint would be an added bonus, but I don't mind taking B&O, NYC, or PRR units to the stripper!
I hope they do well on handlaid code 40 rail.

The one locomotive I would love to see is the small yard switchers. EMD NW2,SW1500,or Alco S2.

So with the E8/9s finally out, the F3/7s beginning to make their appearances and the SD-45s set to follow this year, I was curious to know if AZL has any plans to do release an injection molded E7? While researching the E8/9s, I notice that the E7s were probably the most abundant of the E-Series. Combined with their production starting in early '45 and remaining in service into the early AMTRACK days their appeal should be just as great as the E8/9s. Plus with more than 20 original owners, many of whom went though more than one paint scheme on the E7s, should offer a lot of possibilities.
Ok that said, my shameless plug would be for some Milwaukee Road in the grey lightning bolt scheme.

I was considering trying to modify the Milwaukee Road AB E9 set for a future project that I'd like to attempt sometime.

Hi Rob&Hans, Any chance to see the Alco PA1 (and PB1?) out again? You did a good job as usual on these ones They are very good looking diesel, on many companies (DRGW, ATSF, MKT, MP, NYC, SP, UP and more) and are perfect for the transition era Thanks! Charlie

I would like to see the Alco RS1 - tons of roadnames that could be produced.

Thanks! CharlieI can only support Charlie on this quest!! We better have a whole fleet of them - and foremost please in the daylight colors !!! >> for two daylight trains, this means a minimum of 4 PA1 + 2 PB1 ,....... Best, Sven

I agree it would be nice to have the small US switching loco's that are popular in US rail yards and small off branch local lines. They would add interest, and I think they would sell well. Since we are modeling railroads it's only natural that many of our layouts probably have a rail yard to keep our rolling stock. So I'm actually surprised that no one in the US has modeled a US style switcher yet.
A little off topic, but along the same lines. It would be nice if AZL would offer rolling stock with different road numbers once in a while. The mold is already in existence, how much harder would it be to offer more road numbers? Just asking...

I understand industrial manufacturing of a Z scale (small sized) switcher is still quite a challenge.
As for me, my greatest dream would be GE roadswitchers. Bs and Cs, and yet better, any style of U-Boats (even if my preferred would be a U23B for my own purpose).
