Yes everything counts. We will for now not use "Assembled in America", but the amount of work being done in the US is substantial. There are very few options for production in the US since manufacturers rarely can offer a complete product. MTL and Bowser are good examples of US based production, but they are also dependent on subcontracting to China. Especially locomotive manufacturing. There is always an economic aspect, but the cost difference between the US and China is not substantial. Last, it is also about skill level.

We have used: AJIN (Korea), AJIN Train Model (Korea), Sanda Kan (China), AFFA (China), New AFFA (China), Bowser, Z-Panzer (UK). Did I forget some? At the moment we are using New AFFA and Z-Panzer. New AFFA is now in China, not HK. Old AFFA production was also in China, but HQ in HK.
Sanda Kan lost or destroyed: GP7/GP9, SD70/SD75, F59PHI, Bombardier Passenger Cars, Amtrak Surfliner Passenger Cars, Amtrak California Passenger Cars and our Containers. Yes that many products!

RI paint scheme. There are at least 5 different paint schemes. Researching the details as I write this. It appears that RI had two early paint schemes. We will settle on one of those. Once we have the artwork approved, we will post it to the Forum.

Just a general remark to passenger locomotives. AZL is gearing up with another E8 release and also the long awaited F7. We are still in the artwork phase so delivery will not be before 2021. Expect B&O, C&O, RI, KCS, SP Bloody Nose, PPR Brunswick Green and VIA E8s and ATSF, D&RGW and ARR F7s. These are all done from existing AZL tooling.

We are planning a "live" event at the end of the Summer to compensate for the missing NTS news. So give us some time to come up with something. We will announce a new freight car for sure and give a candid update on our pipeline of announced products.

A quick referral to the RS-3 blog about available parts. We do like to offer Couplers, Trucks, Snowplows and Various Airhorns. (Some have been available in the past) And to make it as generic as possible we would probably stick to black color. Hope this helps and we are talking 6 months out.

My post really referred to assist buyers with broken or missing parts. Would love to offer spare parts for kit bashing or modifications. It will be quite an undertaking to have everything available so we will suggest a short list on a separate blog. This will take time.

Have not forgot the audience. No news or progress report at the moment. This is typical for this stage. Hoping to have updates in late August.

A note on the cab side windows. It is possible to rotate the cab 180, but it will not align well with handrails and the battery box door will be a little off. During the initial design period I identified 3 different side window configurations. There are always some choices to be made when making a locomotive and we chose to go with one common cab that fit most roadnames. Several railroads also used Bay Windows which we did not produce. Could be a nice aftermarket item.

I will revisit the issue of turning the cab 180 degrees later. I am away from my office for two weeks and need to look at the CAD files. Also, based on the RS/RSD sales results we could add more products from this time period. Freight cars or maybe even the above mentioned SD7/SD9.
