The timing of the NTS this year did not fit well with my schedule. I plan on being in Florida next year when the show is in Orlando August 4 - 6. We did show brand new items this year: 2 x Amtrak Amfleet passenger cars and 1 x Amtrak Viewliner passenger car. We will make a new product announcement later this year, but felt the NTS was wrong simply because we did not have samples. As usual we have quite a few products in various stages of development Orlando? Even though it's August, that sounds better than Indy. I recommend staying in Cocoa Beach and commuting down the Bee Line for the show.

The ES44AC is not delayed. We did an internal shuffle by pushing the P42 before the ES44AC. Just completed all artwork corrections for the ES44ACs. As soon as we get our hands on preproduction samples we will post those to the Forum. As for Amtrak, we do not have a release date yet. Hope that we have the first units out by October

Will you be doing ES44DC's eventually as well?
Will you be doing both BNSF Heritage-II (same scheme as your SD75M) and BNSF "Powerbar" scheme (same scheme as the ACe) on the ES44AC's? (same question for DC's too, if you have plans for them)

Hans, is there a special reason you chose Amfleet II over Amfleet I cars? They are less numerous and ran in fewer paint schemes (And they are too modern for me 😟). Just wondering...
Greetings, Oliver

I can verify BNSF Hertitage II ES44AC. No DC planned yet. Amfleet question. The second run (Amfleet II) was supposed replace long distance passenger cars. That goes well with our upcoming P42. Also, Amfleet I consist of 5 different cars which we thought was a little too much. Strong Amfleet II sales will most probably lead to Amfleet I cars.

I can verify BNSF Hertitage II ES44AC. No DC planned yet. Thank you for your reply. That's great news. They will at least work as stand-ins for the ubiquitous C44-9W's for now. I would highly recommend the DC's and/or a revamped C44-9W as they are staples for just about every railroad and particularly on intermodal trains. It's almost impossible to model BNSF without Dash 9's but--if you squint--an ES44AC viewed as a generic GE locomotive will suffice for now. Santa Fe Silver/Red Warbonnet C44-9W's alone would make the SD70ACe sales look like massive failure.

I have been remodeling, er, relaying track, er, extending the tracks in my UP Engine Yar (the Z track ads) to finally add all the details but more importantly all the diesel burning power that will be staged there.
*Now* I have to also commit to reworking the other yard for all the Santa Fe power. Jees.
Well, lets see what gets done be October, when the 1st of 2 shows hits.
