Hi Rob, Any chance of a UP heavyweight Pass re-release. Missed out on them and they are nowhere to be found?

How about L&N: Dave, we still have a couple of UP heavyweights in stock. But they are very limited: 71208-1 8-1-2 Sleeper - Centavon 71708-1 coach 417 71708-2 coach 432 I am not aware if AZL is planning to release additional UP heavy-weights. Rob

That's a shame from what I've read the only thing the E8/9 did for UP was pull passenger trains is that a correct statement?

Dave, As far as I know the UP used the E8s only for passenger service. Only problem is that those passenger trains were almost exclusively streamline units. On the City trains, only heavyweight baggage were common. C&NW heavyweight diners in Armour Yellow were not uncommon. The only heavyweight train I'm aware of post-Pullman was the Utahn, but I don't think it ran E units. Here's the best online reference I've found for UP passenger trains: www.utahrails.net/pass/pass-index.php#heading_toc_j_3Hopes this helps, Mark

Thanks for the info Mark. On the plus side I do have the micro train UP passenger set that sound like a good match

How about L&N:
The picture shows actually the short-falling of the AZL model to the prototype: different pilot, no portholes, offset 3-chime horn, tank skirting. To the rescue: the pilot is correct for AZL's #797. A corrected, super detailed L&N E8 will be ready soon ;-)

I'd love to have an ATSF war bonnet: it's was my very first loco so many years ago. But technically, the units shown are modified E1 units, a couple of inches shorter in length and height and I don't know how many exterior detail differences. Might not go over well with some modelers.

Since the NYC E8s have been released, here is one on a NYC E8. There are quite a lot of very good photos of NYC E8s, but I choose this one because of the string of heavyweight cars behind the locos. The B unit is an E7B. Rob

Great idea to show prototypes. Here are some pictures of the E9 from CN. There are a lot of them because they were repainted a couple of times. I think they are very nice. The first one is in 2006 with an IC E9. The second one also in 2006 with a new paint. The third one in 2014 with a new paint (close to the first but not the same). We can also see an observation car behind.
