For the love of god Robert. Please tell me there will be a SP daylight ABB set so I can finally pull the Brass Passenger set I bought that just sit on my shelf. I think we can help you. Is the set cheaper then two locos? Yes.

Very cool! But I don't do L&N. What other roads will we see in the initial releases?
I like the 3rd truck option. On my coffee table layout your view is restricted mostly to god view so it would be hard to see the pilot on a trailing unit. I would definitely leave it on the lead unit though.

We can promise a lot of new E8A/E9A roadnames this Winter and Spring! The B units will less than our A units, but can only be purchased as a A/B set. And all B units are powered. That said, very few E8Bs existed and we do plan to offer the B units with our future ATSF, Milwaukee and UP releases. Sorry, SP did not have E8 or E9 B units. They used E7Bs! Sincerely, Hans

So the front coupler with pilot is fixed and can't swivel?

It is a dummy coupler and is fixed. This is the solution for head units. If you run sets, simply take the pilot off and attached the enclosed truck with the AZL coupler. We also offer two different couplers! Both Freight and Passenger style. Sincerely, Hans

We have not decided on the different release dates yet. NYC should be next out. Also expect the following roadnames: ATSF, MILW, UP, SP (Daylight), CP, PRR, Amtrak, Southern, MP, ACL, IC and C&NW. Sincerely, Hans

So the front coupler with pilot is fixed and can't swivel? Hi Gerd, the front coupler on the pilot does swivel some, although it was designed to be the front pilot on the train, so I have not tested it yet with rolling stock or paired up on locomotives. I suspect it will work well, but we had a ton of other things to work on to get the release out, so I put secondary, non-design use testing at the back of the to do list. I'm away for the weekend, so maybe Rob K can do a quick test to see how well the pilot couples. If not, I'll look at it next week. Besides, we were thinking of you knowing that you would want something to improve! (kidding - sort of) As everyone from Team AZL has said several times, we're including both trucks, so plenty of parts for folks to experiment with. Best, -Rob(A) AZL

CN owns 2 E9 that I beleive are still running : #102 and #103. They were in the green and yellow paint then the red, black and white that we know today. It seems that 102 was repainted in green last year.
They are very beautiful in both colors.
I am happy to see CP but is there any chance to see CN ?
Thank you

Hans and Rob
Can I put in a request(plea) for an E8 B unit for either the NYC or PRR? I know neither owned E8Bs. But they both had a pile of E7Bs. And who can tell the difference? Don

Don Don, From a check of my references, NYC E8Bs were at least the 4100-4113 series. For the PRR the E8Bs are "B" units to some of the E8As in the 5835 series. Mark

I suggest to run A-As instead of A-Bs. If the E8 release is a success, that could convince us to add the E7s in a couple of years. And if we do, that will solve the SP, NYC and PRR B unit "dilemma". But please, we have barely released our first E8A. Be patient! Sincerely, Hans
