CP, the 5600 series made by EMD, not GMD. Maybe the top is a bit too shiny, but we use photos for reference. Bell should be where it is supposed to. azlforum.com/attachment/download/7744
What year(s) are your pics from? I did not see any of those units with the black roofs, perhaps they were re-painted (or washed) at some point?
In your pic, the black areas on the angled cab roofs on units #5608 and #5603 look more like soot wash-down to my eye.
These are from rrpicturearchives.net, yet seem to show red roofs on units #5606 and #5625 at the time the pics were taken:
To make the roofs less shiny, one could brush on some flat black weathering powders. (Pure black on a model can be overpowering, so use it sparingly -- less is more.)

Such a disappointment. My favorite locomotive (SD40-2) in my favorite CP Rail scheme finally arrives... with a major flaw! Diesels are grimy and sooty on the roof to be sure, however I have never seen a CP Rail locomotive in Action Red with a jet black top. Not to mention the bell and the whistle! I'm having flashbacks to N scale paint schemes that came out in the 1980s. Surely AZL, you're not going to sell these with such a glaring error. Back to the factory to make it right. Please, please, please! A my fault would be accepted 🤨 And a bottle of red paint to respray the black. |

I purchased the new heritage SD70ace from Z Scale Monster and come to find out the site was overloaded and my order wasn’t processed. If anyone purchased multiples or has any leads, I would be willing to pay a significant fee.

Any idea when the ES44s with regular UP and BNSF paint schemes might be available? I missed the past releases and don't yet have any. Ready to buy at least 3 of each.Thanks. In the latest video posted above, you can spy a BNSF ES44AC in the 25th Anniversary paint scheme being tested. 😉 Yeah, that's awesome. I just assumed it was from a previous release. |

A few notes: There will also be an SP 4 pack. Mr. Kluz has not yet received them. Also the Spirit of UP locos are a very limited run with only about 50 released. Pictures do not do them justice. Are the about 50 a very limited 1st run? -Or- Are the 50 that sold out in a day or less going to be all that are produced?

Units 5629-5658 ( 'block' DRF-30j ) are listed as made by EMD the rest by GMD. None of the roofs look black except 5634?
Also, pics broken down by 'block' and serial (A#'s are GMD and 72#'s are EMD):

Not AZL, (the thought of me working for them might give them hives) but given what I've seen from them over the years I'd say there's a good chance the Spirit of UP will get a re-run.
Heck, I think they'd sell out all of the previous UP-Heritage, UP multiple cabs, BNSF multiple cabs, and probably the NS stuff too if they ran any of it again.
If they'd run the previous tooling for the UP Heritage MP and MKT, BNSF, UP, and UP George Bush I'd buy them all today, even though I have probably close to 3k worth of Z-scale and N-scale hitting the books over the next 6-12 months. That would be a serious budget deficit, but I'd do it.

Here is a quick video show us test running the SD70ACe - Spirit of UP. So this sounds like distributors may have them in stock to fulfill orders by end of next week? I hope everything is going out soon. I'm eager to get my controversial CP loco! PS: kind of surprised both cabooses are still available, given how long the Rio Grande ones have been sold out (and frankly I prefer this one anyhow) |
