Sounds like we need a new video! Ahem....I said.....Sounds like we need a NEW VIDEO!!! (Yes, I know...we got the PA1 announcement video, but I mean the "what's next" type of video.) Now that the ARMN reefers have hit the shelves, I have exactly ZERO officially announced AZL items on my list. And only a few rumored/proposed items... -An SD70ACe run is supposedly close (?) but then again ES44's and Bethgons were claimed to have been planned for rerun by now as well, so who knows? And I'm not sure if the ACe re-runs are only those featuring the updated PTC arrays or if they are re-running the older "original" and "comfort cab" version as well. -The SD40-2 release seems unlikely before the end of the year, or maybe late Fall as a best-case? And given the 23 or so roads pitched, this run will get us close to (or into) 2025 if you do the math. Depends on variations...for example, not sure if there will be "early" and "late" BN's included in that count, with/without ditchlights, whiteface/stripes, etc. -Other: Aside from the two locos, there was a teaser about the AutoMax cars being under evaluation for potentially getting done which would definitely be of interest. Then there's the aforementioned "mystery photo" that may or may not be relevant. And I'll definitely buy some of the Jindo containers for sure. Don't get me wrong, the SD40-2's are going to be HUGE for me, and will likely use up a lot of my hobby budget over the next few years. I'm very appreciative of the efforts that are apparently being placed on these models and cannot wait to see how they turn out.

Probably should do a video soon (mid March maybe). We still have two locomotives in development we have not shared. I will update the SD40-2 thread as soon as we receive the first plastic from the factory. Hopefully before Easter. Reruns of ES44AC and SD70Ace locomotives have been ordered by the way. We are reworking Antenna Arrays where needed based on locomotive modifications. Stay tuned.

My guess is that one locomotive could be an Alco FA and the other unannounced locomotive could be one of a GP35, GP40 or GP40-2. I think that the GP35 is viable choice due to the large number of different railroads and paint schemes for this model, and the GP40-2 is a viable choice due to the popularity with modellers. What would really be cool to have would be a Fairbanks Morse H-24-66 Train Master painted in SP Black Widow colors! Mark

A U25B!! But a REAL GP35 with accurate details would be nice. GP40 for sure, for my Milwaukee Road!

Atlas announced there N and HO U-boats. Popular roads but . . . The Atlas Archive (http://archive.atlasrr.com/) is an excellent resource to assess the popularity and possible paint schemes of different locomotive models. We all have our own biases based upon the railroads and era we model. I would love to see more of the early GE locomotives available in z scale. The U25B, U28B, U36B and U30C for Rock Island and the U23 and U30B for Western Pacific. Rightly or wrongly, my impression is that the U boats are less popular with manufactures and modellers than other locomotives. Mark

Yeah, that was the earlier response, especially for a small (qty) segment in Z. But maybe they could be classified as ‘Special Runs’, with Pre-orders, and charge say, 2x (like a brass run).

I can confirm the U-Boats are not as popular as similar EMD models, I offer them for years and numbers are indeed moderate

So next week... do the UP PAs come out before the UP F7s? Will the NP freight F7s ever arrive? Will some mysterious E8 show up that nobody was expecting? And what about the City of Los Angeles set, which is pretty clearly waiting in the wings?

And what about the City of Los Angeles set, which is pretty clearly waiting in the wings? While I’m interested in all the above (SP,UP)I hope they’re spread out over the year: PA ABBA Set: $900 F7 ABBA Sets UP, NP $1600 COLA $850 Total: $3300. more if you want multiple sets. Even for those of us who are independently wealthy, that is a stretch. BTW most homeowners’ insurance will cover $4000-$5000 max. Mark

The good news is that you don't need to buy any rolling stock to go with the PA ABBA set

The good news is that you don't need to buy any rolling stock to go with the PA ABBA set The COLA train is substantially different than the COSF so that would be new rolling stock. As I recall, the COLA had lounges with porthole windows. Now that would be interesting.

The COLA went through several variations. From the items that Rob posted earlier, looks like they are aiming for the mid-50s version that ran with at least three dome cars (coach, lounge, and diner).
