I was going to ask you what 3d software you were using but I read back through the thread and saw that you are using tinkercad. I haven't tried tinkercad yet, I'm using another one. I plan on printing houses, buildings, bridges, and other structures (no train cars!). Hopefully I will get started on my layout soon, have only built a test layout so far. Keep up the good work. TInkercad is easy to use, as it was set up with schools and students in mind. You can't create very complex objects, but for most designs it's ideal. Good luck with your own designs, and I hope you'll share pictures once you start making them!

Here is the finished passenger car. I gave it a few laps in both directions on the layout, so it runs well. I have two more designs I want to print, a combine car and a baggage-rpo car. I think having those three cars, run in pairs, will make for some nice short trains. The combine can also work for mixed-trains. I'll post pictures of those two cars once they're printed, painted, and have been run on the track.  |
