I did some tinkering with designs over the weekend, then printed the new cars. First is my gondola. The new design has it in two pieces, a body and a floor. I tested this design with N scale, liked it, so now I have it for Z scale.  Next I took what I'd learned from this and designing a boxcar in N and made this Z scale boxcar. It's still the body and the roof, but the underside has a little more detail to it. The doors are also a more detailed, though they don't quite show up in brown paint.  |

I made up one new design, a 36' wood boxcar, along with improving the older designs. I painted this one yellow to be a sort-of Katy boxcar. I have some other new designs I'm going to tinker with, and I'll share those once I know they work.  |

They look great. I love thos Boxcars snd Gons. Printed myself some Flats and Gons from Thingiverse that were N scale and scaled them down to Z.. you just need to load them up( which I did with some solder wire in under the frame) and loads.
Love to see more

I'll have another video up this weekend. Before that I thought I'd share a photo. I've decided to try to design a few more buildings for future projects, as well as improve the designs I printed earlier. I started with a small log cabin. The print turned out good, and I think I'm getting a little better at painting.  |

Another project I completed was to redesign my short heavyweight passenger coach. I think the new design looks better than the old one, and it's definitely easier to paint.  I do plan on trying to design and print full-length heavyweight cars. If I get one made I will post a picture. |
