Is this a hint for PA units coming down the road? Maybe in 2-3 years? Hope. Hope.

Now now the big question: Does the e8 or the e7 lead my Sunset Limited? [ed: as rightly noted below, I actually have an e9, rather than an e8 at present] Yes, no and sort of. As I understand it, the Sunset Limited E7 diesels arrived before the streamline cars so they were put into service with the heavyweight train. The train was also pulled in 1949 by an E8, with EMD demo paint. It is said that this demo loco became SP6018 and may have pulled the Sunset in Daylight colors in 1950 shortly before the streamlined train was put into service. A couple of other possibilities are the AC-12 or a Mikado. Although the Mikado would have had an oil tender. The ACs also occasionally pulled the streamliner train until 1953. AN interesting note is that the Sunset (and Golden State) was pulled by an F3 AB set, also EMD demos, in 1946.

First post in this thread said it: "Arriving March/April. Artwork and photos will follow...." I was hoping to narrow that down a bit, but maybe that's all we get.

Is AZL going to produce NYC E-7 "B" units? Interesting image in the Trainini magazine that just came out today pertaining to your question. Not sure who JAGRAFXWIK (CC-BY-SA-4.0) but the photo credit belongs to them ...
