The layout is looking very good. The only thing missing are some trains.

Some pictures : Bushes are still missing, and some "grass" on the path to the forestry tower ... Your scenery looks very nice. Especially love the forest service road up to the tower...really has the perfect look to it. But I agree, throw some trains into the pics!!!

As I am also a fan of Shapeways fire tower, nice job on the path and, like me, you’ve added what looks like a ranger station; or maybe it’s just a private cabin. Time to add the forestry crew! 😃

While I am working on the landscape the rolling stock remains carefully packed in the boxes ... To Neverland : I think I will ask "Trafofuchs" for some figures ... And I will put a pickup parking near the tower.

I took one of Merten’s figures wearing blue railroad uniforms and painted their clothing olive drab, which matches the uniforms worn by the US Fire Service of my era. Parked a Jeep next to the headquarters cabin.

US, but it really shouldn’t matter because they’re so small who can tell? Lol

If you are adding figures, you might want to include a lookout in the tower using binoculars. I seem to recall they’re called bird watcher by the manufacturer.

No more possible ... Tower is glued in place, trying to put figures inside could result in irreversible damage !

No more possible ... Tower is glued in place, trying to put figures inside could result in irreversible damage ! Bummer. I glued one figure up at the top standing by the railing, a second figure climbing & a third sitting in the Jeep. I also reduced US Forest Service and Smoky the Bear signs mounted on the headquarters cabin.

No more possible ... Tower is glued in place, trying to put figures inside could result in irreversible damage ! It’s unfortunate that I didn’t think about it earlier. These towers are continuously manned during fire season. Well you could consider a light dusting of snow under the tower and the story is that they are just opening up for the season and the tower doesn’t need to be manned yet. I agree about keeping your rolling stock away from the scenic work. I have a boxcar I really don’t like that I keep out just to check scenery clearance and to see how the scenery and structures scale to the rolling stock. I have found that I change some of my plans when I see what they look like next to the car.

Maybe I could put a ranger on the outdoor deck. Inside of the shelter seems impossible ... and the figure would be very difficult to be seen, windows are rather small !
