On the other side I saw this. ? ? ? And unfortunately I noticed that the GC Lasers are very brittle, despite of the fact that I am not Godzilla's son ... But since some young visitors will come ? Maybe that the Shapeways version is sturdier, but isn't it too modern for my era ? What do You think ?

I couldn't get the link to work, but found the image (I think) using a little workaround: as1.ftcdn.net/jpg/01/77/70/32/500_F_177703263_lGUik6TI92LaeS2NqyRKeoUUuC3rZuyA.jpgI think that *might* work for mid-60's but I'm not 100% sure of that. Not sure if there is a model of that...it would almost need to be etched metal to properly represent the nice web of steel supports. I think you're hitting all around the solution. I think the Shapeways with the uni-pole construction is too new, although the size seems better...the ladder as-is looks wayyy too wide though. If it were me, I would cut down the GC Laser a bit and use it.

Thanks Doug, cutting down the GC Lasers is perhaps the best solution. I hope only that one or two layers of flat varnish (our "usual" Tamiya TS80) over the finished billboards will make them less brittle ...

Is it better so ?

I like the billboard frame on the right because the building is wide and looks substantial. IMHO the one in the left overwhelms the narrow facade, but that’s just me. Are two billboards necessary?

Back to the train announcements in the stations : I was ready to add them to my layout, BUT ... there will be a "carnival" near my "town" station : "150 years Middle Town" ! And, if I add sound to the stations, I must add it to the "merry go round"'s, too ... I have a trailer with a fairground organ, so I thought I could play some appropriate music via a (second) AdaFruit sample player. I lent such a CD to my modeller friend ; he said that he began listening to it, but ... didn't finish ! I wonder if many people would "survive" to such a show, with another music (in a cartoon I heard the word "corny" ) after about one minute, the whole time the trains are running ! So, finally : NO SOUND !

US Army installed a "bivouac" : I must remove some "grass" under and near the tents before I glue them horizontally, add some bushes ... and figures ! Question : should I put somewhere a pole with a flag ?

Most military bivouacs hoist some kind of flag or regimental pennant to identify themselves. I had to use an N scale flag on my US Forest Service headquarters because I couldn’t find one in Z. It looks okay... a bit oversized, like the Chevy dealership in Newport News that you can spot a mile away. Fortunately this one is not full-furled so you can’t count the number of stars, which is wrong for my era.

Nice. With structures as you are modeling there would definitely be a flag pole with a u.s. flag. In the 60s the most common unit you would find is the army corp of engineers, a bright red flag with a White Castle , a possible interesting addition.

Thanks Mark, I found the best resolution here, saved it and will print it "U-shaped" together with others on white decal.
