Updated/patched TTX Forward Thinking/New Image or older box_speed-line style? BNSF wedge/swoosh or herald h1 circle?

Good news! Yes, Mærsk will be produced. Wow, great! Finally! Thank you for excellent news! The only bad thing is that there is no suitable locomotive in the whole AZL lineup that can be re-issued in Mærsk livery. And I doubt MTL will change their mind just because of the announce of Maersk Maxi-I by AZL...

And I doubt MTL will change their mind just because of the announce of Maersk Maxi-I by AZL... You don't have to have a Maersk locomotive....the Maersk Maxi-I's have been pulled by a variety of locomotives over the years....likely every single one of AZL's non-cowl plastic diesels at some point. And there are still Maersk Maxi-I's on the rails today. They're patched to other roads but still have that signature blue color. (albeit somewhat faded now) I think the patched cars would be a cool release but that's just not something AZL has done up to now. I really hope they're doing the BNSF Circle logo, but I have a bad feeling they're not going to. Good news is, it is typically pretty easy to remove the logos on AZL cars, so assuming we can find an appropriately sized circle logo, it should be easy enough to backdate the swoosh versions. I would think the TTX older logo is a no-brainer, but then again I thought that about the BNSF H-II scheme on the ES44's. The thing I'm really interested in is the containers. I've been wanting to buy more of the Rokuhan, AZL, and MCZ containers but don't want to if I'm getting 10 of some particular scheme with the Maxi-I cars. And if they're doing a hodge-podge like they did with the NSC doublestack cars, it will be interesting to see if they'll match up well.

Some time ago I bought undecorated SD40-2 from MTL, so it seems that now is the best time to do something with it... Greetings, Alex

Greetings, Alex You could use AZL's SD70M with the widecab so the Maersk logo would fit, it's not a GP60M like the original, but close enough! There was also the SDF40-2 that was painted this way, but you'd have to track down one of AZL's old F45's in brass for that, and those are RARE and expensive!

Has someone done decals in Z? Looking at it, you can probably cobble together decals from some N/HO sets to get just about everything needed. Only thing that might be a challenge is the nose "shield" outline.

I use pad printing and UV-printing technology in my own models. This is exactly what is used by all major manufacturers of railroad models. Printed with these technologies, models look as if they were produced at the factory, rather than homemade articles. You can see a lot of my own models on my Facebook page: www.facebook.com/ZmodelltrainsAll of these models were printed either with pad printing or UV-printing technology. There are my own developed models, as well as re-paintings of Märklin ones. I never used decals nowhere. So, if I finally find a time to build a Mærsk loco, I will definitely decorate it in the most professional way. It won't be too hard to print a logo on the nose, since it is removable. Regards, Alex

Wow, very nice work! You are fortunate to have those tools at your disposal. Great results for sure. I probably wouldn't use decals either if I were you!!!

Hi Rob, I use Mimaki UJF-3042 to print my models: mimaki.com/product/inkjet/i-flat/ujf-3042fx/Actually I don't own this printer, I order printing at the local company, with which I cooperate for a long time. By the way, Märklin uses the same printer to print their models - I noticed it in their promo videos I wish I could buy it, but it is uber-expensive, it costs like a good car, therefore it is absolutely not affordable for home use. Greetings, Alex

Hint to AZL... There are a lot of 5 unit container well cars sets that have been cut down to three car sets... BNSF and TTX are prime examples... So if you want to draw more potential buyers in... Offer 3 car sets as an option... TT

Almost half the BNSF sets are now only three unit sets as they go buy me north of Golden gardens... In Washington State...

Generally speaking, the 3-unit cars are the 53ft cars, not the 40's. Pretty different animals. 53's haul domestic containers versus the 40ft ocean-going variety.
The few 3-car articulated sets that are 40ft were cut down from 3-unit 48ft cars, not 5-unit cars. I've never seen or heard of a 3-unit Maxi-I car...the only real reasoning for it would be a wreck repair of some sort. I have heard of some Maxi-III's that went from 5 to 4 for this reason. Not saying it never happened, but it would be rare.
I am definitely with you as far as wanting the 3-unit articulated 53ft cars, for sure.
