I want the coal porters... I will check engine number that I am missing in ES44ac. How do we set up transaction? I replied to your PM with the details. Let me know if you are interested in more than just the 4-pack of BNSF swoosh coalporters. I'll make you a great deal on the BNSF green coalporters and two of the BN Black coalporters....$100 for all six. And still have the ES44 if you change your mind on that.

My comment has absolutely nothing to do with Rob's post. Notice that I quoted a previous comment, related to how releasing faulty items would tarnish the brand. So, I'm not criticizing whatever is happening on Friday.
Other mfgs in other scales manage to release "scratch & dent" items without harming their image. It's a matter of clearing denoting such items and framing them as products for scratchbuilders and tinkerers.

I still think it would be a horrible idea. To put into circulation faulty items would greatly harm the perception of the AZL brand (which is now state of the art). Imo it was already very difficult to manage the GP-38 crisis as it was. What would happen, should tens of defective locos of a given model hit the market? In the aftermarket nobody would risk buying one such loco, knowing it could be one of the “broken” ones... Um, that is pretty much EXACTLY what has happened with the GP38s. If we’re buying defective products anyway, might as well get them at a “scratch & dent” price.

So to get back on topic...I (once again) voted for the Corn Syrup cars. I have examples of about 2/3 of the list and I'd say most are "contenders", but I just have always loved those cars going back to a couple of Walthers version I had way back as a kid in HO. I just wish AZL would do the Tate & Lyle scheme at some point to round out my collection. How about now? Not sure I understand the question. Are you asking if my (or everyone's?) favorite has changed in only 4 months...and with no new announcements? I suppose the AAR boxcars are new but they are way out of my era. You might be right that these boxcars have shot to the top of the list for many z-scalers though. The corn syrup car is still my fave. Just wish they weren't so expensive as I'd like to have a couple more.

I pretty well just explained everything out with regards to the SD70 series locos. Not sure that any more research is going to yield a different answer for you, but good luck.

There are still two options...AZL's later runs included an ATSF Warbonnet (so "ATSF" on the side instead of "BNSF", but otherwise the same scheme) and also another run of BNSF Heritage-II. Both of these are still widely available. (in fact, I have one of the newer Heritage-II locos for sale at the moment.)

If you dismiss DCC decoders to allow speed matching, I think you'll find the following to be true: 1. The SD70ACe's and ES44AC's won't match up as well with the older SD70M/SD75I locos with the 8V Faulhaber motors. This includes the following list of locos: - 6101 - NS
- 6102 - UP
- 6103 - CN
- 6104 - UP Flared & Flagged
- 6105 - BNSF Warbonnet
- 6106 - BNSF Heritage II
Read more: azlforum.com/thread/1032/maximum-locomotive-voltage#ixzz5Ol5jhelH2. The SD70ACe's and ES44AC's should run well with the newer SD70/70M/75M locos. (ie Every SD7x series loco not explicitly named above)

Wow, looks like it's almost been NINE years since these came out... www.zscalemonster.com/azl/90100/so.htmI think they probably just had the BNSF Swoosh scheme up since it is a pretty nice looking car, even if it's not currently available. Again, if you're interested, I can help you augment your fleet just let me know.

At table-top height kids and people in wheelchairs and scooters can see the trains easily. We've received many thank yous from the above-mentioned groups. Thom, that is a very very good point. My custom module spec is tabletop, so--while I did not consider this--it is an added benefit. I definitely want to be inclusive...even--and especially--kids. I guess I just need to get over my phobia and chalk up losing $200 every show and move on. If I don't have incidents, then I'm $200 ahead.

My thoughts... 1. I don't currently have either modular standard. But, I certainly don't want modules to go away either! So I can't really reply to the poll. 2. I like the concept of T-Trak. Liked it when I was in N, and have investigated it in Z. 3. I also like the Z-Bend concept as well. One local modeler has at least a couple of modules I think, and a small group of us have talked about expanding on his setup and building a few Z-Bend modules. 4. I have also developed my own set of modular standards that sort of adopt some aspects of both. While it is true that I wouldn't be able to easily match up with the others, in my experience the chances of that happening are slim. (and, there is nothing preventing me from creating modules for two standards, or all three!) I have yet to build one of my custom-standard modules, since about the time I was getting ready to start was when the Z-Bend-er came into the picture. Plus, I'm currently working on a stand-alone "roundy roundy" layout and didn't wish to redirect any more time away from that either. So it's wait and see for now, but I expect to be in the modular game soon, at some level.
I will add that one of my real concerns with displaying modules or even my roundy roundy layout is the security of the trains. I'm very fearful of kids (or adults acting like kids) damaging the rolling stock. So I guess the viewing height is somewhat a consideration, although I'm planning on having plexiglass shields in place to ease my fears. Z stuff can be expensive and also hard to find replacements for some items. So it makes me nervous.

Thad, I'm not sure I understand what you are asking? The BNSF "Swoosh" (dash) coalporters from AZL have been out for some time now....at least 3 years. Finding them is just a matter of patience and cash at this point. They show up on eBay from time to time.
I have one four-pack for sale right now, along with a four-pack of the BNSF silver/green scheme and a four-pack of the BN black/green scheme...all of which run together on the same trains in real life. If you're interested PM me.

How about actual 3 or god forbid 5 cars sets of container well cars... I know it's not a gen 2 diesel... But it's worth a shot... Many gen 2 diesels pulled these in the late 70's and 80's into the mid 90's... This would be an excellent stand-alone topic, since it might get buried here and/or that way you're not hijacking another topic. I will definitely contribute to that topic since I would be interested.
