Willy...your caps lock is stuck on.
I truly hope that you find some peace with model trains. You have mentioned more than once you have a huge investment in Z-scale but that investment is not returning anything to you; only frustration. Cut your losses (model trains are NOT a good investment) and find something that makes you smile; whether it be another scale or another hobby. You have also mentioned that you cannot find any fellow Z-scalers in Canada; I bet there are quite a few N-scalers.

Willy....what exactly do you want people to tell you here? If you are truly done with Z-scale, tear it up and put everything on ebay and expect to get half of what you paid for it. You can then take that money and buy Kato Unitrack in N-scale and have flawless running forever.
Z-scale is more finicky than N-scale. Z-scale is more expensive than N-scale. There is much more selection in N-scale than Z-scale.
What are you waiting for? Get rid of the frustration in your life with Z-scale and move on to N-scale. Maybe that will bring you the joy that is supposed to come with model trains.

Do these reissued BNSF units have a brighter, deeper orange paint than the newer ones? The photos look different.

Just so you know on the J, a ballpark guess on price will be about $2000 as it will be brass and limited production.

Charles....there are several other roadnames available for the AZL Mikado like NKP, B&O, Pennsy, NYC, UP, WP, CB&Q, CN, CP, etc. There are also lots of AZL Heavyweights available in many roadnames as well. Additionally, Micro-Trains has made some lightweight passenger car sets in B&O, SP, BN, CN, etc.
Mark is correct that the Marklin Mikado is out there and while they don't as well as an AZL, there are good ones that run pretty well. Marklin also did a set of Southern passenger cars as well.
You can keep an eye out on eBay for an AZL Mikado but typically, not a lot of pre-owned AZL comes up there.

Arsenix2001...maybe this dealer needs to be named on here so others don't have to go through the same thing with them in the future. I know I certainly wouldn't patronize them because of this situation.

Willy...what Z-scale companies have gone belly up or been bought out? I know Intermountain dipped their toes in Z and it didn't work out for them, but I can't think of any others.

I have been an N-scaler for quite a few years and about 5 years ago, I became interested in Z-scale because it is just so cool what they have done with both detail and running qualities. If you asked me a year or two ago, I would have sworn I was switching to Z all the way. A couple of months ago, I came to that crossroads that Doug talked about and have decided to primarily go back to N-scale. The biggest reason for that is that there are several things in N-scale that will never be available in my lifetime in Z-scale (SD70MAC, Pioneer Zephyr, Shay, UP Turbine, Glacier Express, Thomas, etc.). I love the variety in N-scale. Some other reasons are the expense of Z-scale, the lack of built structures, the deathly slow releases of new things, etc. I do wholeheartedly agree that Z has come a long way and AZL is primarily to thank for that. I have pared my Z-scale back to 4 locos and about 50 pieces of rolling stock. My Z-scale layout will be roughly 2' x 3' and my N-scale about 30" x 52". That is all the space I have for now and in the foreseeable future. I think for the next two-plus years, releases from AZL are going to slow quite a bit more. I just don't have 5-10 years to wait for things that may or may not ever get released. I want to enjoy the smaller scales now while I can still see them.

Thanks for your time in checking this. There is a MTL Central Vermont shell on eBay I was going to get and I have an AZL GP30 that I could use the chassis with it. Thanks again Mark for this; I appreciate it.

Good afternoon...will a Micro-Trains GP9 shell fit on an AZL GP30 without modifications? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I found this pair of locos in the yard in Farnham QC on Saturday. Never heard of that railroad until I saw these. Attachments:
