I will definitely need to get a couple of the BNSF Trinity Reefer. Thanks for making those.

Rob and dazed, thanks for the input. Is there a reason that you are layering two 1" pieces of foam rather than using a single piece of 2" foam?

dazed, are you using the pink foam? If so, are you painting it and if so, what type and/or brand of paint are you using?

I wanted to revive this thread; I am ready to start my 30 x 60 layout. I need some input as to the base of the layout; what does eveyone here use for small layouts? I thought about 2" thick pink foam, a lightweight frame of 1" x 2" with a thin plywood top, etc. I know that plywood tends to resonate when trains run. I mainly want something that is lightweight but sturdy and something that will stay level and straight. As always, I appreciate any input.

Rob, are you willing to give an approximate time frame for the Burlington heavyweights?

Mark,
Do you have any videos of your Mikado pulling the heavyweights? I would like to see some AZL Heavyweights in Burlington Route but I doubt it will happen.

Good morning...I hope everyone had a good Christmas. Did anyone receive any Z-Scale items as a Christmas gift? I got an AZL Mikado in Burlington Route and my outer oval (270mm) of Rokuhan track. Have a great day!

So, do you paint the tops of the rails as well and then clean it off with something? I would think it would be difficult to make the tops of the rails.

I have read a few scattered threads here about track ballasting, but I am wondering in anyone who has painted, weathered and ballasted Rokuhan track would be willing to give some very specific directions on how to do it? A video demonstration would be even better. I am looking for specific information, such as what paint you used to paint the rails, how you masked things, the technique for painting the rails, etc. I suspect some weathering is done using washes, but how do you protect the electric switches from getting liquid in them. Any help would be great. Thanks looking.

Any chance you could expand this to buy 3 sets of Coalporters of our own choice and pick an SD70xx of our own choice for free?

As a newbie to Z-scale and AZL, some of the comments on this thread about the crumbling chassis are a little concerning. I haven't seen anything about the crumbling chassis until this thread came up. How widespread of a problem is this? I see the GP38-2 and the GP-30 mentioned; any other locos have this problem?

Hello,
I have been looking at some of the Full Throttle 2-bay rib side hoppers and I would like to get some opinions from the Z-scale community about these cars. How is the quality, accuracy, running characteristics, looks, etc. for these cars? All input is appreciated.
