They were made by Kurt Lueck, 3R Works, but long out of business. I still have some of his kits in my drawer, lucky me ;-)

I would really like to see a Alco RS-11 in Z. They have such unique lines, and lots of roads had them. That said, ANYTHING painted in Northern Pacific would be great, the SD45 would be awesome. A U25C, U28C, or U33C would be cool too. Available , but not from AZL, saying that, chassis are AZL:

Well, I'd go for 3 or 4 PA/B SP consists in Daylight and Bloody nose. Searails has announced the release for their FA-1 for tomorrow. Great! Is the body made of brass? I thought so, but I believe at a certain point I read somewhere it was plastic Conflicting info on their page, I would send them an email to clarify

SW1000 and SW1500, SW1200 is a different beast. Any news on these? Getting peppered with requests for updates. Thanks. My latest issue of Z-track Magazine has a blurb in there that AZL had one running at the show. And also they announced the SW1000/1200!!

It’s not a duplicate anyway, one is an RS3 and one is a GP9, very different in appearance

Wow, I'm just glad AZL is producing locos again! DCC or not, it's nice to finally see an Alco in Z. Plenty of Alco in Z, just not in the pocket money category

One must remember that the mass Z scale audience does not run DCC. What they want is smooth running locomotives that can haul a considerable amount of rolling stock. This is achieve through weight. All of the recommendation here sacrifice weight for DCC operations. What I recommend is waiting until these are released and see what the actual space is available. As Rob mention, there is a room in the cab so I would focus there as you starting point for adding DCC. That's a bit lame, AZL has traction tires and a couple of grams less wouldn't make the difference. On top a RS-3 is not going to pull a 100 double stack container cars.... In fairness AZL is not a manufacturer, it's a brand relying on its suppliers, so if the supplier has not the imagination, skills or willingness to come up with a different design it's not gonna happening
