I would suggest stripping it 90% alcohol. I don’t like painting over the current scheme, because you have to paint it thick enough to cover the railroad scheme. That’s the easy part. The hard part is getting decals. Yes Z scale Decals are hard to get by... BR Boris

It’s supposed to be I haven’t done it myself, but it’s been a while. I think he used a device that generates electricity to melt it. It’s in Trainboard, so you have to go through all Robert Ray’s post to find it. This is after 2003.

It’s what I am guessing. The last brass retail price was almost a $1000, and that’s for a smaller locomotive.

I have done it myself, but Robert Ray cut the long shank and joint it to a MTL coupler by melting the plastic.

I would be very interested in 3x AZL DDA40Xs The only it’s going to be made it’s in brass, and that’s going to be at least $2000 each.

I always dream of doing a hump yard, but the amount of real state it would take.

Yes, cut the nipples, and you will used the centering springs and post. You will also need to trim the tabs in the cover. The cover has to flush, and you will screw the screw into the post to hold the cover . Also don’t forget to add greas-em to the pocket.

Pretty good. Instead of playing with trains, I went on a real. Took Amtrak from Florida to Seattle round trip. Last year I went to San Francisco by train, and saw snow for the first time. 😁
