Maybe you can buy a good locomotive. It maybe hard to find, but GP35’s are great runners. I use to tell me if it’s the track is the problem. As always, clean your track before running, and the engine is lubricated.

I think you are out of luck. I was lucky to get my switcher, but I know lot people didn’t get theirs.

I have 8 of them, I believe with wires. When I get back from Germany this Friday, I’ll check Saturday. Note: you do not want to order the non-leaded ones, the are designed for direct PC board mount (reflow solder) Did you get it.

Check all the wheels, and see if they are connected. I superglue them to the axle if they are loose. The F59 is a one of the most powerful and strong pullers in z scale.

I don’t think the Surfliners were part of the chassis replacement. They were released after the Bombardiers.

It’s too bad Huet is not honest and unreliable. I have one of his switcher, and they run and is well made. I also have problems dealing with him, and I won’t buy anything else from him.

I wouldn’t do it that low. Use at least 10 volts. One the reason I got rid of my voltage reducer is that some decoders don’t like the low voltage, and didn’t run right.
