Wow! Rob I see your retirement plan or 401 K plan has a lot of z scale in it. LOL Great looking lay out. Still looks like a little work in progress on it.
My layout when not in use will be stored in back of my cabinet. My house has over 3000sq ft but no room for a big layout. Go figure.

I kinda went a cheaper route. IKEA sells a nice little display cabinet, with glass shelves, that mounts on the wall. I bought extra glass shelves to display all my engines and other bashed items. I hooked up one of their lights, at the top of the unit, to display at night. It measures about 4'+h x 1.5'w x 8" d. Already has rows of pre-drilled pegs holes so extra shelves can be added as needed. Comes with a glass door with wood trim -- looks pretty nice. cjhayes Let's see some pic's

Well all my stuff are in shoe boxes. So I finally broke down and bought myself some oak lumber. To build myself a display/ storage and layout cabinet. It's about 5' h x 40" w x 21" d . I told my wife it was going to be small cabinet and she didn't care and it was great idea. Well i had the outer frame pretty well done and showed her what it was going to look like .Her reply was that's to big and were you going to put it. What do guys think ? Cabinet to big. I thought it was just about right, not to big or to small. Chime in your thoughts before final assembly . Remember happy wife, happy life! LOL. Bob I know what your going to ask ,where's the pic's. Hope to have some later.

Ztrains I hate it when my tweets go out due to an unintentional keystroke! Was asked to replicate the Monongahela for a Z scale decal sheet. yesterday · reply · retweet · favorite

Ok John GREAT JOB. Could you add a black lettering of Monongahela to the red M .So if by any chance I could get my hands on a AC44 z scale engine . Then I could do N&S Heritage engine also. Bob

Something kind of interesting here: www.rrpicturearchives.net/locolist.aspx?id=MGANow all the GP38-2s are listed, 2000 through 2004. All photos show the logo as orange. I originally thought it was faded red but I'm now thinking it actually was orange! Even with paint fade, it's unusual that all of these locos would fade at the same rate. Also, there are some photos with a mix of the white stripes, orange logo on the sides and a red "M" on the front, like this one: John Ya they changed paint schemes around a lot .I mention that in reply 25 and unit 2003 was last paint scheme on GP 38's with white stripe ,same as super 7's as The photo you have below.I showed my atlas N scale to a few shop guys that worked MGA and there comment was the M was a little darker. But your right it was redish orange and then went to red on Super 7's .i stand corrected. Smack me stupid and etc!!!!!! Bob www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=2513496

Me I prefer red but I know you guys were wanting the faded look. Any chance you can make both colors to make every one happy. If to much trouble I 'll go with what you make. Bob
