Surprise announcement!
AZL is pleased to inform our valued clients that we will be producing the Baldwin Sharknose diesel locomotive. With its distinctive look, it is our first Baldwin diesel. This major locomotive manufacture has been missing from our product line, and this fills in an important gap. Why announce today? Well, the real April Fool joke is that Hans has been known for disliking the Sharknose for years, but THAT was the long planned April Fool! He actually loves the sleek design and has wanted to make it for years.
AZL will make the Sharknose in all major road names, including an undecorated version. Look for the release before the end of year.
Happy spring!
(AND APRIL FOOL!!!)

Baldwin is really under represented in Z. Hopefully the success of the Sharknose will pave the way for Baldwin S-12s.
You guys are all wrong. This announcement is real. The DRGW SD760Ace is the April 1st joke. It was sold out before it even went on sale! They probably just re-used the photos from the first time they released it.

The JoeBAMA Administration has announced a variation of the Baldwin Sharknose, called the toothless Shark.
Dual wind and soybean powered and painted in a "Pretty Rainbow" livery.

This is the best scale, and AZL is the best company. What else can you ask for? (other than a DDA40X)

Lunch almost went down the wrong way when I caught this today. A passion for trains and humor is a shared thing. April Foolsā Day, indeed. Well Iāll be. ā¦ How winter began with the run of the much-anticipated SD40-2s! We enjoyed thoroughly the Aloha winter update video in February! Likewise, we enjoyed news from a visit to China in March! Now we have a new locomotive surprise announcement on April Fool's Day as an inside joke for the family! Excitement just keeps building. Beautiful. Thank you. With all the fervor, I must say, I cannot help but think of what that guy on the forum has to say. Heās really funny, much of the timeāScottāThatās the guy. Thatās his name. Was it Scott that foreseeably stated: āBased on that alone, the shark should be picked up by AZL.ā? (In fact, the whole post is a hotbed RE: The Baldwin:) azlforum.com/thread/2608/interesting-locoThat guyās cool. Ya gotta love Scott. Regards, Scott PS: Wait. What if the April fools was an April fools in and of itself? Best keep an eye out till midnight (again).

OK, my personal inbox is flooded with; "please do the Sharknoses, please" So maybe I do not hate the Baldwins as much as I did Still hate (or perhaps better, an extreme unexplained dislike) Trainmasters!

So was it a joke or not? Lots of us have been waiting for a shark nose for a very long time. The earlier AZL post seemed to imply you were releasing it later this year, and that it wasnāt a jokeā¦ you might have some upset customers.
